Hagane no renkinjutsushi (2017)
Japanese people playing German parts
Lets be honestly, this was a movie that was meant to be played by Germans. However, the problem with this movie is like all Japanese Anime live action adaptations. This could have been good if they grabbed American WB and not the JP WB. Told them to make it then at least they would have had a cast that made sense.
Not only that but it felt more like (as it always does) a fanmade/fanfiction movie. They wanted a movie so bad and this was made in the carnage of what could have been a movie. It's not terrible but it's not good either. This is the kind of movie that's not even worth pirating to be honest.
AND TBF, I AM a huge FMA fan as I have the homunculus seal tattoo on my right shoulder.
DC Batman: The Audio Adventures (2021)
One of the most giantiest setups I've ever heard
I don't understand whose choice it was to make this period none of it makes sense, it sounds like an edgy teenager made this that tried to be funny at the same time. All I'm listening to the entire time are very bad voice actors. People who are trying too hard to try to make the average person laugh.
Whoever chose several of these voices needs to be smacked. Who thought it was a good idea to make Robin a girl? When I first heard it I thought it was Carrie Kelly and I was like oh cool it's another take on dark night. Never mind. And who decided it was a good idea to make commissioner Gordon sound like that?
These episodes are so bad. The only reason I'm rating it as a four is just to give it some love for being Batman.
Batwoman (2019)
This is a great show and people are over thinking
So anyone reading this, take my advice, don't read anyone's opinion if they can't even talk properly. English isn't hard, it's complex, but it's rather easy to work with. Even a 10 year old can format better.
This show is rather nice. Ruby Rose is a great character and thanks to "Crisis," it's been confirmed that Kevin Conroy is this universe's Batman which makes this 10xs better. If they want to, they can bring back in Kevin as Batman for a flashback or even back as a man side character.
As it stands, not everything is going to be grand and spectacular. You think I care about the current arc in Boruto with a castle prison? No. I've been sticking around cause I genuinely like the show (this goes for both Boruto and Batwoman). As an avid DC comics lover, I can say that I do give criticism when due. Birds of Prey in the 90s? It was good but the fighting choreography was easily late 90's and it shows.
As a DC comic show, I would rather watch this than watch Legends of Tomorrow mostly cause I never got into it as a whole and then I hear Constantine joins and I wanted to watch that but then I was like, "Well that's not cool," Because I really liked that show.
If you're a big JOKER fan from the comics, from the animated series, whatever, you'll love ALICE. She's not the Joker, she never will be but she won't hesitate to kill you. Kate doesn't know how to be a hero and is used to people pushing her away because she's gay or a woman. When she became Batwoman, she had no idea what to do and just used her bootcamp training to fight with, which was a smart move.
As a whole, this show is a solid 8, not because I'm a DC comic lover at heart but because this show is actually well written and has been accepted by the other shows and is frequently talked about too in other shows mentioning Gotham.
If you have not watched the show and you're thinking about it, Please watch the first season and then judge it for yourself. Literally, I'm telling you to make your own decisions and not let them make it for you and become another sheeple.
Chilling Adventures of Sabrina (2018)
"Patriarchy" "trans" "feminist" "satanism"
These are the words to best describe this show. As a magical show goes, it works. It shows the original way witches are meant to work. However, what I do not appreciate as someone who is apart of Wicca(n) and is a psychic by nature (no not the type to garner attention), I do not appreciate that the writers have portrayed all witches to want to get with Lucifer and are evil by nature. Eating one another if they are hungry, or that they have to submit if Lucifer returns. As far as any other show with magic in it, this was never the case.
Harry Potter, Original Sabrina the Teenage witch, Supernatural, Constantine, The Magicians, and a lot more notable people and series, have never portrayed magic as evil, more so that it's a tool, as science helps us to understand, magic helps us in many other ways. As 1 person on the internet said "Magic is nothing more than science with different tools" which is fair to say when you're making a magic potion.
When you think about it, making break with wheat, milk, eggs, and more, than turning the dough into bread. That's basically just alchemy.
As the show goes on, they go into more detailed about Sabrina attending a mortal school and a magic school. Basically it's "Sabrina and ______" basically it's Harry Potter gone bad. As a show about magic goes, this is alright. It's well written magic wise but the portrayal goes about itself is what will ultimately cause it's downfall. From teenage issues, to a "non-gender-non-sexual-non-binary," to some black girl losing her vision at some point and a boy that Sabrina is dating who wont shut up long enough to let her speak. This show is riddled with questions and problems that doesn't seem to resolve itself.
The only key-note in this entire series is that the football players get dealt with. Aside from that, it's mostly everyone going on about Sabrina joining a satanic cult and if she doesn't they will literally kill her.
Also, these 3 (b)itches hate her cause she's a mugblood and torment her ass till they finally get their asses (well necks) handed to them finally and leave them alone.
Black Lightning (2018)
The electric hero
Static may never get a show, but hell, we got Black Lightning. I love this show and can't wait for them to make this work with the rest of the CW shows.
Something I would like to address:
People in these comment sections don't understand how the comic book world works. You need to have a basic understanding of that and you will be happier. So stop being a dumbass' and appreciate a comic book come to life
The Producers (1967)
Just boring
Honestly, Compared to the '05 version, this was like watching a middle school play trying to do it. It was just sad and pathetic. Nathan Lane, Matthew Broderick and Uma Thmerman are the people who made this movie funny.
There were a lot of scenes in this that weren't in he '05 production but also had literally 1 song sung. The not even the woman who played Ula was worth anything. She was "60's cute" nothing more.
This movie was boring as hell. I've watched the the '05 edition at least 4 times and every time it was amazing.
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016)
What is even going on?
All I'm going to say is that it literally made no since in the plot. It's like watching FLCL the first time and thinking it was cool then watching it 3 more times to actually grasp the plot.
Wonderbra is latino.
The Flash which is given a 5 second clip is some hippy long haired dude.
No one cares about Cyborg
No one cares about Aquaman
The plot was all over the place. At first it's like Lex wants to take down superman, but lets also take over the world. Lets show what Batman can do, lets show what Superman can do. No lets make weapons, no lets sell them, what about this bullet?
Nothing really added up. it's like they wrote a movie script for 3 other movies and smashed them together. That is what I felt like I was watching.
Deadpool (2016)
Anti Hero's are normally better
This movie was one of the few movies I can say a child should not see at all. Ryan said he wanted to do this movie, making it rated R was a big thing. I give him that much.
The only thing I hope for in the next film is to calm down on the cursing. I get it, it's Deadpool, he's meant to but at the same time, he curses too much. I think almost every other sentence has the F Word in it. Aside from that, this movie was excellent.
If you're not a fan of Deadpool, or Marvel, sex, violence, misogynistic themes, don't watch this. Do us all a favor and keep your terrible comments to yourself. No one wants to read them. I saw a handful of people calling the movie bad and giving it 1 star. You're nothing more than a (Words I'm not allowed to say) and need to grow up. OH NO! THIS MOVIE OFFENDED ME! Stop being a victim to everything and grow up. Go ahead and tell tumblr!
Anyways, don't take my word for it. Go see the movie yourself! Or wait till it hits red box and snag it!
Yu-Gi-Oh! Arc-V (2014)
Best at what i does
So far I've been very satisfied with this series. It's much better than Zexal. As the first review had said, all the series' have had their own topics/gimmicks/themes. If anything, people need to get their heads out of Gen one and realize there are others out there. If anything, GX is my all time favorite. However, with Arc V, it focus' on the future of entertainment, focus' on the study, the different types of monsters, summoning's, and more. This series allows the players to ride the holograms they create (this was done way before this concept back in Jimmy Neutron with the holographic butler).
One of the biggest reasons I suggest this series over Zexal and most other's, is because this isn't trying to capture your attention. It's not trying to be good like all other shows with their try-hard gimmicks. This anime is by far more fun to watch. I feel like a kid again watching Yugioh like it was when it first came out.
However, as always, the VA in English is bad. So don't waste your time on it. I say this as I watch GX in English. I try all anime that has both Japanese and English VA to see which is better. Sometimes, both, sometimes only 1. If I say only 1, it's normally Japanese. I'm not an anime weeabo snob. I actually want good voice acting so I don't have to read subs all the time.
But, if you're unsure, just watch the first 10 eps, if you enjoy it, good for you, if not, bummer.
Clockstoppers (2002)
childhood O' Mine
I watched this as a kid and I loved it. It was actually not easy to find again considering it's age.
This teenager, who sells everything he can on Ubid (at the time it was actually a thing 02), is saving up for a car. While going through his father's old junk from down stairs, he stumbles upon an old wooden box that he knocks off a shelf. In the box is a watch. When he presses a button on the watch it "slows down time" not actually stopping it. Moving so fast thru time, accelerating at the speed of a hummingbirds wing flapping, (google it). His father had explained what it does at one point but not explaining in full detail but calling it "Hypertime.
His father is the main creator of the watch and knows how to duplicate it but says instead (like all movies) "What would happen if this got into the wrong hands?"
As he figures out the watch, a group of men want it to use for their own purpose. (go figure the bad guys). As the teenager uses the watch, he also learns of it's side affects. When in Hypertime, the body is actually accelerating at hyperspeed as well, causing the cells of the body to age faster. 1 minute in reality is close to something like 5 or 10 minutes. 1 hour? almost something close to 2 days or more.
As for a story line, a "hero" like based movie, this is a really good movie and deserves a 2nd film but never happened. If you like the concept of Time manipulation you will like this movie.
Teen Titans Go! (2013)
Garbage
I wouldn't even allow my future children watch this. Maybe in the future if IMDb is still around, my children can read my reviews on all the shows and films I've watched.
This show takes the concept of DC comics and Teen Titans and shoves it down the toilet and watches it spin in a circle while taking a plunger to it trying to get it to flush.
I understand that they want to get more children into TV but if they are above the age of 7, they should be watching things like Batman/superman/Green Lantern TAS, Young Justice, Most of the Batman series, Justice League, Spiderman/ironman/Xmen TAS. Not because of "muh childhood" but because the shows were actually written for teens to adults and any one watching them can actually connect and understand the characters and feel the development of the characters. This show basically takes it and shoves it's face to the ground.
Now, the idea of these shows are to gather a younger audience, well that audience shouldn't be watching this show if they are that young. They should be watching PBS. I would rather my younger sisters, nieces and nephew watch MLP or Transformers or almost anything else on Nick or Disney. At least they actually care about their shows. (most of the time).
This show is a waste of time and should of been canceled in the first season.
