Just because you can doesn't mean you should.
This was just lazy, unnecessary, and insulting.
If reality is going to be turned on its head, at least make it realistic. Instead this episode used it as an excuse to use a tired cliché to try and boost ratings.
I'm not sure who they thought they were trying to attract with this episode, but it definitely wasn't Star Trek fans. My nine-year-old daughter might like it though.
Gene Rodenberry would be rolling in his grave if his ashes weren't in space. But I can guarantee you he would not be singing while he was doing it.
I'm all for creativity but this wasn't creative. It was just ridiculous and unnecessary.

This movie is highly under rated, and ahead of it's time.
This paved the way for The Martian, Gravity and many other movies that came a decade or more later.
It's not a space adventure - it's a thoughtful and intriguing look at what 25 years ago the future could bring. And from an entertainment standpoint... It did.
With lesser actors, yes, this could have been a real clunker of a movie but the cast were exactly who they needed to be, and you can tell they took the movie seriously.
No, it's not. 2001 a space oddity, Star wars, or any other movie that will stand up forever. But it's definitely a great movie.

Reboots are always dangerous. Especially when it's a reboot of an extremely popular show.
I think they did a fantastic job. They hung onto the that 70s show style, the old cast appearances made sense and weren't just there to placate fans of the old series, and the new kids, each have their own personalities and work together well.
The stories were interesting enough and the comedy was just as good as the original.
Very well done and I hope there will be a second season. It definitely deserves it.
I think that users giving this low reviews are just missing the old show and not judging the reboot on its own merits.
