This is the fourth (at least) time that this plot has been serialized. Each version has been different with only the base story remaining the same.
This version is basically fine, but there are some things that stand out, and not in a good way.
1. The characters switch back and forth between their language and English between sentences -- or during them -- often several times within a short conversation. I don't know if this is really how people of this region speak, but it feels totally contrived.
2. The acting is not great. The main characters are OK, but most of the additional characters are painful to watch.
3. Season 2 gets pretty silly towards the end and there are plenty of situations that end up being simply laugh out loud ridiculous.
On the whole, it's not terrible and it is interesting to see yet another interpretation of this story, but I can't recommend it as anything more than that.

Other reviews here praise the dialog and the reality, but that's what makes it a big miss for me.
None of the characters are in the least bit likable. A mother who blows off her obligations at the expense of her fellow workers, a sister that's jealous of her sister's success, a brother who is just plain ill-mannered and obnoxious, and a dad who is completely overbearing. Then there's the usual collection of petty classmates.
It might be realistic, but what it is not is entertaining. If I wanted to see fractious family drama being played out, I can go visit my relatives.
I honestly gave this a try as I stopped watching several times when it annoyed me and then came back to it the next day, but I finally said "Enough!"
