Jahmil Eady is an award-winning screenwriter, director, and producer. She earned her BA in Media Studies from Pomona College and studied film at the Prague Film School in Czech Republic. She was an associate producer on projects for Oprah Winfrey Network, Viceland, and Discovery Networks. She wrote and directed the sci-fi film, Heartland (2021) and the social impact film, The Bond (2022). The Bond raised over 26,000 on Kickstarter in 2 weeks and was supported by Film Independent's Artist Development Program. Jahmil's work has screened worldwide, including at dozens of BAFTA and Academy Award Qualifying film festivals. She is the Princess Grace Foundation's Inaugural Sir Roger Moore Honoree for filmmaking. Jahmil was also named UCLA's Inaugural Class Artist, representing over 14,000 Bruins in the class of 2023. Jahmil's other distinctions include the New York Times Award, Teri Schwartz Family and Friends Award, and the Four Sisters Award from directors Gina Prince-Bythewood, Sara Finney Johnson, Mara Brock Akil, and Felicia D.Henderson.

Fantastic Film! Talented Filmmakers and Actors!

Black White and the Greys is absolutely fantastic! I was especially amazed when I learned that Marchelle Thurman, Casey Nelson and their producers (Jay Jablonski and Jessica Mathews) only took six weeks to write, produce, and direct in this film! Every character and discussion was treated with such nuance and thoughtfulness. Most of it took place in one location but it never felt claustrophobic. There were nice moments of levity at just the right time. I also appreciated the natural performances all around. We have all scene film about marriages and relationship falling apart under strain and stress but this film offers a new take and leaves us feeling hopeful.

Star Trek: Lower Decks

Great show

I enjoyed the additional character development. I loved that we got to explore the various crews around the ship, meet different alien races, and connect with the quartet. The ending gave me the warm and fuzzies. I'm excited to keep watching!

I read some of the Lower Deck and Discovery reviews. I see that people don't like how diverse the crews are and the race and gender of the protagonists. Star Trek has always represented diversity. I love how much this property is expanding -- each show has it's own style and yet there is still cohesion. For the record: Deep Space Nine and Discovery are the best haha. Lower Decks is a marvelous addition!
