(I gave it a 7 for made for TV movies..not movies in general) I thought the movie was interesting. Amy Brennaman's character is NOT always screwing up as the last reviewer says...she merely makes BETTER judgments which aren't advised....and in doing so she saves a baby's life as well as her own in one case and her own in another...she's not the best actress when it comes to tearful/emotional things especially on Judging Amy...but in this movie she did pretty well....it was a good made for TV movie and i'd get it on DVD...I like cop stuff though...it's always interested me...even though this is of course a Drama...but it was good...in my opinion. Hope this helps :)
Actually i thought the movie was good...I mean more could have happened...but it was still good...the little girl is a pretty good actress...well she's older now of course...but yeah I only really watch the movie on regular TV because all those stupid cuss words really start to turn you off after awhile you know? I mean all these rated R movies with their hundreds of "F" words and such it's so pointless...to me it shows that the screen writer didn't have enough lines or time to fill in so basically every other word they say has to be the "F" word....this movie wasn't too bad with them though...there are worse ones I mean...but still....look at Pirates of the Caribbean...they don't use the "F"word and guess what? Still a great movie! ...Anyway this movie could have used a little more action and suspense....but it's alright...not as bad as that other reviewer says.
The movie is a fictional account of what could happen in an area where home invasions happen often and hostages may be taken. Since the movie didn't want to get too violent as people would grow disgusted...or it would remind them of a horrible personal experience....the movie doesn't really show a lot of strong violence....It's rated PG 13 or actually PG I believe....the most unrealistic thing about it is that a real home invasion could be a LOT worse.....ummm the point of the movie was it brought the mother and daughter closer together b/c they fought a lot (but because the movie is only an hour and a half long they don't really elaborate on that) but if you see the beginning and even throughout the film you see the bond between the mother and daughter.....it also shows how it matured the daughter who was turning 18 and "wanted to be treated like an adult" ....I liked the movie....it's just not one of those movies that plainly points out everything....most parents and their kids have fights over what the mom and daughter fought about in this movie....so why should they have to elaborate on it? They think you'll get the point....
