James Gunns Superman does everything in his power to make Supes grounded and empathetic, almost to the point of parity.
He saves babies, he saves kids, he saves dogs, he saves random little critters. And then there's Krypto. It's a lot...
But it all worked out well because of how Director James Gunn used the supporting cast, giving Supes the freedom to be human. Not just Superhuman.
He has a large community of journalists and Metahumans who circle the wagons for him. James Gunns Superman isn't an Alien. He's One of us. A human.
Loved it
It's about as good of a Silver Age "Big Blue Boy Scout" depiction of Supes as we could have hoped for. A great building block
A few caveats:
a few cuss words (not necessary)
It appears that young lady was under the influence (Not necessary)

Elio is a wonderful Sci-Fi Fantasy about an ungrateful boy who's granted a wish when he's whisked away on an incredible journey, at the end of which he learns that there's no place like home. Pixar's Elio has heart.
It's everything that i love about Pixar original films. It treats it's characters like real human beings and takes them on a full journey both inside and out (no pun intended). It's a movie for kids and adults and doesn't insult anyone's intelligence or sensibilities. Its a fest for the eyes, the brain, and the Soul.
Some Comps for it would be: E. T. The Wizard of Oz Luca
Don't expect Elio to be like Lilo & Stitch. Elio's alien friend is not written as a pet. He's his own character complete with a story arc. Trust me, it's well done.

UP is a boilerplate fairytale for spoiled boomers who expect the whole world to revolve around them until the day they die... And of course before they die they're going to retire to some South American "Paradise Falls" where there are no brown people or people who speak Spanish. How romantic!!!
It's all about them. The happy ending is that the old man gets what he wanted and the little zennial gets a bottle cap lol. Literally that's how it ends. I'm not making this up. The near unanimous praise and love this movie gets is perplexing. People complain that old people are being on to the Dreams of aspirations for dear life but then they don't see the connection with how entertainment like this has conditioned them to root against their own generation. Them they wonder why old people get everything and they can't even buy a home. UP!!!! (Yours)
