Masamune-kun No Revenge (2017)
Cute but cliché
Hm... Masamune Kuns Revenge. This is a classic romance anime with an interesting set up. As you'll see from the summery this show is about a boy who basically used to be chubby and picked on by this girl and now that he's hot and in high school wants to get his revenge. He wants to set her up as his girlfriend and then brake her heart. I think you can kind of get what happens. The cool thing about this anime is that the characters and comedy make it a worth while show! For twelve episodes they make a very cute collection of character development. I appreciate how Masamune himself isn't the usual good looking classic girly anime main boy. He has an awkward and caring side I appreciated. Over all I say go ahead and watch it! It's twelve episodes subbed and dubbed, and great for a binge watching day. Though it won't be your favorite I think you will enjoy it.
The Resurrection of Gavin Stone (2017)
Laugh out loud, faith-based comedy with amazing semi-hidden messages!
This movie was the pleasant surprise of the new year... Being a Christian myself i have experienced many life changing faith based films but the resurrection of Gavin Stone had a beautiful message and much more as well!Though it is predicable it is done extremely well and Brett Dalton's acting and comedy had me laughing and crying too! Even if you aren't a Christian the comedy itself is fresh and a great way to spend a day-off or lazy Sunday afternoon. Going into the theater with fairly low expectations, it was a pleasant surprise. Plus if you have seen Marvel's Agent's of Shield this movie is basically mandatory to see Brett again. I wouldn't be surprised if this movie sets off a chain of new comedy faith based movies and i can't wait to see more! If you are looking for a wonderful, clean, funny film look no further than the story of child star Gavin Stone.
Boku no hîrô akademia (2016)
plus ultra!!
I came upon my hero academia on a whim. I had seen user ratings that said it was the bomb but he story seemed very generic and unrealistic, In truth it is the opposite. This show is defiantly in my top ten anime and even show list. You don't have to like anime to watch this show at all. From the first five minutes you can tell this show has a buzz about it that makes you want to binge until you drop. The main character Izuku Midoriya is an 8th grader and then freshmen in high school. This show picks apart a generic genre of superhero TV and makes it an emotional roller-coaster that shows that everyone is fighting to be a hero in their own way but not all people have the opportunity... sometimes you have to make it. I fell in love with every single character and the villain was so intriguing I had to read the manga (Japanese comic style story.) Plus usually I worry about the appropriateness of the shows I watch and I am proud to say the violence wasn't over the top for the situation and it was perfect for anyone else over 12 so you don't have to worry about gross profanity or stuff like that. This show is fantastic in so many ways and I urge you to watch it and keep in mind season two comes out April 2017. (I apologize for the super biased review!)
