The Morning Show (2019)
What's left on the cutting room floor?
Firstly just need to say I really enjoy the show. The main characters are well rounded and seem to fit well. Several strong characters all squeezed in. But my small complaint is that there seem to be huge gaps in story lines at point. It's as if (and most likely is) they have removed sections of film in the edit to fit within episode time limits. This is most noticeable in series three. On several occasions I've had to rewatch a previous episode because I assume I must have missed an important plot point due to leaving the room, being distracted or falling asleep. Only to find I didn't miss a second and I'm just expected to catch up. Fortunately it's a very enjoyable show.
Lioness (2023)
All good until the final episode
Good acting, and fairly immersive main story line come together to a finale that ruined the Whole series for me. Some of the side story lines were utterly pointless come the end and only once you get to the final you realise this. The meeting with the target - didn't really have any edge to it and all came around too quickly. The final fight scene wasn't anything epic and felt rushed. I don't know how it should go but I didn't really believe it and there were plenty of other less believable parts but none annoyed me like the end gun fight. And then the whole series wrapped up in the final 2 mins. Not what I wanted but have to give five stars as up until the final I was hooked.
Once Upon a Time in... Hollywood (2019)
It isn't clever
If you are expecting intertwining storylines from the two separate groups in this film then prepare to be disappointed, it happens just before credits roll.
The cinematography is great, the acting is great, the sets are great, the made up old movie scenes are great but the movie as a whole is not. There seems like there is something building throughout but apart from 10 mins of violence at the end the rest is just Meh........
Temple (2019)
Could have been so much more
Was a great premise to the show but unfortunately the synopsis was more exciting (and misleading) than the show itself. Are there another 10-20 episodes of footage left on the edit room floor? It felt like they could have made what they did have left into a 2 hour film. They could have bought in new characters to the clinic each week but instead we get 10 mins of some gangster and 2 hours of Lee moping around after being dumped by a girl. Certainly watchable and the locations and sets were brilliant but I just wish they'd made more of them.
