I am on my second episode and it is looking more and more like it will be my last episode. I have watched many "from above" types of shows like Europe From Above and they have been chock full of spectacular drone footage of scenery, monuments, cities, historical sites, etc cetera, and it has been wonderful to watch. This is the exact opposite of those types of programs. They instead take a few lame overhead shots then fill it with overly tedious drownings from so-called experts, whose main area of expertise seems to be wasting time. The result is a few 5 minute segments stretched out to make a 45 minute waste of time. Give this a pass.
History by the Numbers
It's not called History By The Numbers for nothing. The numbers came thick and fast, interspersed with a history of the fast food industry. White Castle, McDonalds, KFC, WhatABurger, Wendy's, it had it all and it was very informative and entertaining. Then the lectures started and it was all downhill from there. They started with obesity and childhood obesity then moved on to the evils of beef and poultry production, but it didn't start there. They then gave statistics on methane, pontificated on why we should eat more vegan options, all with sickening pompousity. At least they didn't tell us we should be eating insects, but maybe they will be saving that for a future program,
We are huge Emmerdale fans. We watch all of the current episodes and have been watching classic reruns of the show from the date of the very first show in 1972. We have even considered going on the Emmerdale village tour the next time we are in Enngland (we live in Spain and have family in the UK, so it's a short flight) So when we found out there was going to be a new series that included Emmerdale women in it we looked forward to giving it a go. What a mistake that turned out to be.
It turns out that when they aren't in front of a camera they are incredibly boring people. The only good reason I could recommend this show is if you are having problems falling asleep at night, These shows should do the trick nicely. Unless you are desperately in need of a nap, give this one a pass.
