  • Too Slow and Simple

For a movie based on a true story of a famous crime, they did not do the film justice. I know the real story is quite simple and no one really knows what happened. So there is a lot of speculation as to how it all went down. This movie most likely follows close to the true story of what happened. But the presentation of the film was very basic.

Great acting. And yet the movie becomes boring quite quickly. It's slow. Very slow. And there isn't a lot said in the movie. When they do talk, they use an older poetic english that's hard to relate to since people no longer speak this way. The love story felt too sudden and drastic. There was no chemistry between the two leads. And they really didn't give Kristen Stewart much of a part. We didn't get to explore her character much and she barely had any lines. On top of it there is very little music in the entire film, giving an uncomfortable silence as all noises such as creaks and squeaks of every little movement can be heard.

I like that its based on a true story, but I wish they would have given more to the characters to create a more complete story. And deeper understanding of each person. With a better love story. Instead the movie is filled with lots of awkward silence and unnecessary scenes to "fill" the movie until it can finally reach the big finish.

  • All Action. No Story.

Another film for the John Wick Franchise. The main thing this movie had going for itself is the action. It's non-stop and really good. But, being a different character in the John Wick world. I was hoping for a little more then just action. The movie has no depth. It barely develops a story, other then revenge. It lacks in diving into the character. Not allowing the viewer to relate to Eve or even getting to know her. The lines in some places are cringe. And Eve had a little too much bang for her buck from the start of the movie. She is new and young. Fresh out of training school and yet she is more powerful then most people who have been agents all their lives. She seems to be an extreme natural with no flaws. A Mary Sue character.

Great action. Good acting. I just wish the movie would have had a little more to its story and character depth. They could have easily made this into two parts, to slow down and build up Eve. To let the viewer really see the challenges of a new recruit and who this new character is. And above all, more of the John Wick universe.

  • A Cold Jumbled Mess

I loved the fact that this movie is based on a true story. That single fact made the film worth watching for me. But I honestly struggled to sit through the entire thing.

We watch two famous writers have a relationship and friendship with each other while being married to other people and move forward in their careers. The movie was very restrained. The dialogue was almost hard to follow. You would think these writers were hardcore science manual writers with the very cold and overly spoken dialogue in the movie that seemed to go far over my head.

The film showed Vita acting like a man who wanted to only have sex. And Virginia who seemed to have mental issues. The heart was missing in the movie it was hard to feel the love between the two actors. And the film almost gave me whiplash with all the friends, and husbands. And trying to remember who was who and what was going on. The costumes and sets were beautiful and amazing. Unfortunately the movie dragged on for nearly two hours. There wasn't enough interesting story to go on for that long.

I love lesbian films. And I love that this is history. But I would never watch this movie again.

  • Poorly Written. Well Acted

Very Mediocre. The movie is about a woman who becomes an assassin to get revenge for her family. She is the unstoppable ghost who can kill anyone. Sounds like a fun movie, right?

There's something missing in the film. Something I can't quite put my finger on. But it makes the movie almost boring and very average. It doesn't have the grit that most assassin movies have. The main focus of the film is the eye candy of the main actress. And the fact that she can kill anyone. And yet she's not a stone cold killer and she doesn't give off "cool" vibes. She's a woman with a lot of heart. Her actions do not match how much emotion is shown in the movie. And it takes away from the grittiness.

The story is extremely simple. That it almost becomes boring. There is much not explained and it could have easily created a little more depth by showing her training or her first mission or even the woman doing a kill order. Instead there is no depth to the movie. Barely a story. There are a lot of filler scenes of action that served no purpose to show or explain anything other then to fill the time. The FBI agent chasing the main person took away from the movie and became annoying instead of adding something. It felt like they were filling a formula. There must be an FBI person chasing the Assassin. Will he catch her? Or will she succeed in her mission?

  • Dark Comedy with Killer Unicorns

Another quickly slapped together movie and thrown out into the world to make a quick buck. The trailer is better then the film.

It's a dark comedy about kick butt unicorns. I enjoyed the originality of the idea. I've never seen any movie where unicorns have been portrayed like this. And it had potential to be a great cult classic. But is failed in quality.

I find it hard to watch movies today. It's rare to find a "good" one. The best thing this movie had going for itself was the cast. The cast was rich with well known actors and actresses that we all love. And they did a superb job. But the film lacked in script and CGI. With todays technology and the movie being entirely about unicorns, the CGI is horrible. It would have been better if they would have taken the time to make prosthetic horses such as we see in jurassic park or even Jaws. Instead it was done quick and dirty. And the results are poor. Even the gore was done with poor CGI. And there is a lot of gore.

I love comedy horror. But in the last few years I find Comedy Horror is being "redefined". The comedy is too subtle and lacks in this movie. It's not a serious horror and it's not really a comedy horror. It floats somewhere in the middle. On top of it there isn't much character growth or story in the movie. It's beyond simple. And it makes you lack cheering on a hero. We all love Jenna Ortega but her part really lacked in script, which was no fault of her own. Her role was too simple for the talent she has. They underused her in this movie due to it's poor design.

  • Too Simple. Nost Scary

Very little explained. And extremely simple plot. The main things going for this movie was the very creepy monkey. And the acting and filming had quality. But it lacked in story and scariness. The main focus was the over-the-top gory deaths. Which reminded me of Final Destination in how they did this. But by doing the unexplained, random, gory deaths it left the movie feeling lacking with the dark entity and the horror surrounding it. Because it felt controlled instead of it being a random vengeful killing of an evil soulless thing. They made it feel like a cosmic joke. A game.

They tried to make light of the gore and horror by having the actors make it into no big deal that this gruesome murder just happened. It's just another, normal day. No one was scared. And by taking away the fear it took away the scariness of the movie. I love comedy horror movies, but this one is not memorable. And to top it all off, they should have given Tatiana Maslany a bigger part. She was the main reason I watched the movie. She is a great actress, but she's only in it for five minutes.

  • A higher quality Spoof Movie

I enjoyed it. Most spoof films are wildly over done. They all have a very similar formula, but this one was pretty good. It helps when you know the movies they are making fun of. It's like easter eggs in a film. If you don't know the movies they are mocking then you might not understand the jokes. This is the first parody movie I have ever seen that has such a wide variety of well known actors and actresses. Most spoof movies have low end cast that do not make it big. But this movie is quite the opposite.

I think the main reason I enjoyed the film was the cast. It's so funny seeing these actors at the start of their career in such a silly movie. They did a great job with the script they were given. It made it fun. Their skills and talent definitely made the difference in quality. As with any spoof movie I have seen, and I have seen a lot of them. There's always one or two scenes that are so cringe I have to hide my eyes. For this movie it was the opening scene. But once I got through that it was a fun film. They creatively mocked other teen movies.

If you love spoof, parody movies, Not Another Teen Movie is one to watch. It has quality compared to most.

  • One of Marvel's Gems.

Marvel finally brings Martial art focus to the big screen. I enjoyed this movie, it was something different. For any martial art fans out there who also love a flare of superhero fun, this is a great film. With a fun mix of both worlds.

The creativity was really nice with the different Chinese animals and culture introduced to the movie. They were very cute. And as most Chinese movies go, it had a graceful, calming feel amongst the creative wild storm that was brewing. It was a beautiful balance.

A lot of the movie was about developing character backgrounds and growth. We slowly discover who Shang-Chi is. I really liked his best friend Katy. She was so funny and perfect for this role. They both go on this wild one-week adventure. It really is a fun roller coaster of an adventure as you get to see Shang-Chi slowly become a hero. Action packed. Story packed. Well written and put together. Another great Marvel movie for the collection.

  • Forever my favorite spider-man film

I'm a massive marvel fan. And out of all the different spider-man movies they've made, each one unique in it's own way. This one will always have a special place in my heart, because its very different then the others. And it was made with care. And it shows.

I love the tone of the film. It's not funny, goofy or silly. Instead it takes real issues of the world and puts it into a superhero film. It has a serious vibe without ever being close to being an R-rated movie. In doing this you can easily sympathize for the characters. A girl who just wants to be seen, but is abused by every man. A boy who wants to make his father proud, even when that father is abusive. And Peter Parker, who is trying to become a man, who makes mistakes and now needs to make up for his past sins. "These are the years when a man becomes who he is going to be for the rest of his life. What kind of man will you be?"

Spider-man is a coming of age story. It's got all the right serious vibes with all the right action. The only thing that now, after twenty-three years later, is very noticeable, is the CGI. It's horrible in places. But in it's day it was amazing. I remember watching this movie as a kid and I loved it.

A great cast. Toby Mcguire did a fantastic job as Spider-Man. He really does a great job showing expression in his eyes. And the character growth was amazing. Kristen Dunset, I find does better with a more gritty role. She is beautiful, but her baby like voice and over the top sweetness didn't suit her in the part of Mary Jane. They were trying to make her look very innocent. But Kristen Stewart doesn't do innocent very well. Willem Dafoe made the perfect Green Goblin. He came across as evil and crazy. And James Franco is a great actor. J. K. Simmons will always be J. Jones Jameson (Peter Parkers Boss at the Daily Bugal) His voice, and energy is so memorable. You couldn't have asked for a better actor.

Overall the story is fun. We watch Spider-man learn life lessons. Grow into a man. Discover his powers and use them for good. Lots of great action. A solid movie that will always stand strong.

  • Darker Marvel Film. Lots of Fun

One of those movies that got buried under all the other Marvel films. Venom came out when Marvel was making all the amazing films like the avengers and such. So, when I first saw Venom I expected it to be just as grand and a part of the Marvel Universe. I was disappointed because it wasn't either of those things. Watching it again seven years later after it first hit the big screen, I have a new appreciation for the movie.

Venom isn't a deep movie. It's simplistic. But it's a funny one with lots of great action. It's a darker Marvel film that could have easily benefited from some R-content. I loved Tom Hardy and Venom together. They were so funny and great. The beginning of the movie is a little slow as it takes its time to set the scene, but once it gets going it really goes. It's a film thats easy to watch and its worth the viewing if you love Marvel movies.

  • R rated Home Alone

I really enjoyed this movie. It's a comedy horror. Everything is over the top, not realistic in any way what so ever. There's a lot of plot holes and nothing really adds up or makes logical sense in the slightest. But that's the fun of it.

I really enjoyed the bright colors. Most horror films are dark and dreary, but this one was alive in full vibrant colors. The lines in the movie were witty and fun. The cast was fantastic. The movie had great quality in terms of filming. It was all fun vibes other then the extreme gore in some places. But they tried to make light of it by having everyone act like it's no big deal.

I find the movie felt like a vamped up R rated version of the Home Alone movie. One kid stands against the bad guys. Even if it makes no logical sense, it was still fun. Excited to see part two.

  • A Feel Good Movie

We follow an autistic woman with a healthy dosage of Star Trek obsession. As she tries to deliver her manuscript to Paramount Pictures before the deadline runs out.

It's a very basic movie. There's no real surprises and the story is extremely simple. But its fun, as we watch a young woman with autism try and accomplish a very challenging task such as traveling a far distance to deliver her story. There's many hiccups along the way and we see character growth and development. As always Dakota Fanning is a very talented actress who does a really good job playing the character of Wendy. The movie is heart felt and leaves you with a good feeling.

  • All Gore. No Story.

Non-stop, gruesome, extremely gory, mutilating, murdering of people all the way through. It was hard to watch. No story. No explanation. No characters to know. No one to root for. Just gruesome murder, one after the other.

Normally I really enjoy horror films and slasher films. But this one was a turn off. It's because it focuses less on being scary and more on non-stop gore. And not just normal gore, but extreme mutilating gore. We watch as this murderous clown just keeps hacking people up for the fun of it. For pretty much the entire movie.

The beginning started out great. It was creepy. It was weird. You knew things were going to get messy. And then it just turned into this super gory movie with zero story. And the most annoying thing about the entire movie, was how many chances the victims had to fight back or call for help and they didn't. It was beyond irritating how little the people fought back. To the point that it lost all believability. It was like they were handing themselves over to die in the most gruesome, horrible deaths. It was too cliché.

Nothing was explained. And there wasn't even a moment to get attached to any character. Or really any breathing room as the entire movie was people either running, hiding or dying.

  • Poorly Written. All Over the Place

Nothing about this movie is graceful or smooth. Overpacked, all over the place and the ending is so strange.

Jackie rolls into town and isn't afraid to use her body to land her a job, a place to live and free steroids. But the girl she attaches herself to comes from a crime family. Things soon spiral out of control and the bodies start to pile up. These two girls madly in love deal with it the best way they can.

The movie struggles in a few area's .First off the love story was rushed and not believable. Lou gave everything, a home, food, the gym, drugs, attention and her own body. What did she get in return? Jackie, a woman who is obsessed with working out because she's a body builder. The relationship felt very one sided. What did Jackie offer Lou other then sex?

The sex scenes were not hot or steamy. There was no feeling in them. They felt cold and emotionless. Instead of the movie taking it's time to build the love story, it goes from graphic sex scenes to sudden violence and death. But failed in really giving a solid story behind all the reasoning for the violence and death. It all felt very rushed like they were throwing everything at the viewer at once. We never really got to see the full extent of the fathers crime. Everything was done in little bits of information that was supposed to add up to a big picture. But not a lot was really explained.

By the time the ending rolled around it got very horrible really fast. They added in their own Marvel Mix. And when the, I love you's were expressed it felt empty. The characters barely had time to know each other or become this deep couple. Lou was a really interesting character. She had everything. The smarts. The wits. She was capable. But Jackie felt unnecessary. Her actions were erratic. What did she really bring to the table that benefited Lou? Or the movie? Other then being eye candy? What could she do that Lou could not do? The characters were not balanced well.

Fun action flick with a healthy dosing of lesbian romance. But unfortunately poorly executed. Needed better writing.

  • Lacking in Everything

From the cover and trailer I was expecting a lot more, but the movie fell short. There's very little BDSM shown, most of it is implied, there's next to no story and the movie isn't very believable.

Charlie who is sixteen, is going through a rough patch. He's angry and hurting. He doesn't want to feel his pain. So he fixates on a woman who seems to be a Dominatrix. Maggie is having a rough go at life and needs to control something. So she leans into her job as a Mistress.

The film is easily on the lower end of movies. Could be considered a C movie. The filming is horrible, with the camera that shakes and the odd angles. It honestly feels like something a student decided to make. But I was hoping where it lacked in quality it would make up in some R rated BDSM content. It does not. There are very few scenes of Maggie being a Domintrix. There's no sex scenes at all, other then one that is about to happen, showing a little nudity and then they cut the scene.

Harrison Gilbertson who played Charlie did a great job. He was cute with a little bit of bad boy and you wanted to see him get dominated. But Emmamuelle Beart who plays Maggie was the wrong actress. First off her appearance, she looks like someone who's had a rough life, who has been a hooker for many years. And she did not have the presence of a hardened Mistress. She came off as someone you could push around with ease. She felt like a broken person. Not a strong person.

The plot makes no sense. If someone broke into your house, the home you conduct paid sexual activity, you would not invite them to come back, and work for you. Multiple times Charlie stalks Maggie and he breaks into her home. And yet she is perfectly fine with it? Who wrote this? So much of the storyline makes no sense. And it would have been fine to have a bad story if it would of made up with the sexual content. But it doesn't. Instead it barely shows anything.

The only enjoyable part of the film is the slow relationship that builds between Maggie and Charlie. And surprisingly the ending is half decent.

  • Forever a Masterpiece

The movie was made 86 years ago, and I'm ashamed it's taken me so long to finally watch it. What a masterpiece. I can definitely understand why it's held on such a high pedestal. And why it's considered one of the greats.

There's something so pure and special about the movie. As you take a walk into another world. A young girl who goes on a journey to the Land of Oz. This fun land is filled with so much creativity. Trees that talk, and scarecrows that live. Tin men that come alive and fun magic. Vibrant colours and an interesting adventure. It's a fantastic movie for the entire family and a classic that needs to be seen.

It must have truly been a sight to see in 1939. World war 2 was going on. Color had just started to come out in film. Movies were short in that time, but this one was a shocking 101min. The amount of detail and work that went into the sets and costumes were phenomenal for it's time. And the creativity to bring this fun world to life. Even today, 86 years later, the movie still stands strong and I think it always will. They definitely don't make them like this anymore.

  • Worth the Watch

After hearing so many good things about the series, I finally sat down and watched it. I was hooked after the first episode. HBO, as usual holds strong to quality.

I loved the new take on the apocalyptic world. Normally its about zombies but this was something a little different, fungas with a vengeance. With the new view it brought an interesting plot line and added an extra dash of creativity. I think the real hook was Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey. Their slow growing relationship on screen while navigating this cruel and wild apocalyptic word was fun to watch. The dynamic was cleverly written as they were both rebels in their own way. It was a slow burn that always had you questioning if they were ever going to fully get on the same page.

Unlike The Walking Dead, it was nice that The Last of Us had a fully set up world that had been under the plagued Fungas for many years. Making it a new world to discover from different groups, different government, different order. The Last of Us felt like a completely different place and it made it fun to see what was in it.

A very high-budget series that's solid. Easy to watch. Amazing cast. And a story that really sucks you in.

  • Underrated Marvel series

The series starts off with a rough start. It was hard to get into with the jokes that didn't quite fit and the cast thrown at you. And it was really irritating that SHIELD was against powered people in the first few seasons. I nearly stopped watching the series. But once you get to season three it takes a drastic turn for the good. Suddenly the show comes to life. The quality improves the stories are interesting the actors really grow on you. The series is like Wine, every season it gets better.

There are some irritating things like some plot lines seem to repeat themselves. And some characters definitely get on your nerves. But overall its a really good show. Great cast and very interesting writing. There's so many different stories in the show that interwind with each other, evolve into other things and grow. I love how each season stacks unto itself making massive character growth and building into a new and fun story lines. They also introduce a lot of great characters from the comic books and we get to see a much bigger view into the marvel universe.

The series had no problem with creativity. They touched on almost anything you can think of in a comic book. It was a fun and wild ride with massive plot lines. Each season seemed to expand right up to the point of introducing other planet exploration. I just wish they would have intertwined it more with the avengers. It would have boosted the popularity of the show. It's really too bad it ended. I think they could have easily kept going.

  • Crazy Slow Burn

Binged both seasons. Not what I was expecting but wow, did it ever catch my attention.

It took me a long time to finally watch this one. It has a very high rating. The more popular something is the less I want to watch it. But it's popular for good reasons. I had just finished watching Fallout and was concerned they would be similar. But they weren't in the slightest.

Silo held my attention because it's all about the mystery. I love a good mystery. Silo manages to drag the answers out at an incredibly slow rate that makes you burn for the answer. While they do this, they throw in many subplots and moving parts that keep it interesting. There's a lot going on and yet there's very little going on at the same time.

The series takes it's time to set the scene. There's no rush as they layout what the silo is and who these people are. Slowly the characters unfold and grow on you. While the story very slowly reveals itself. It's like they knew they had many season to slowly unfold the world they gave us, so they wrote it with that intention.

There's so much quality to the show as no budget is spared. Every actor is fantastic, especially the lead, Rebecca Ferguson. You couldn't have asked for a better actress. The writing is clever and the sets are beautiful. Silo takes you into a dystopian world of the future. Living underground trying to survive. It's an apocalyptic tale packed full of mystery, with people trying to survive and keep their humanity.

Highly recommend if you're a fan of mystery and apocalyptic stories.

  • Mckenna Grace Shines

Not bad for a Lifetime Movie. The film is definitely a B-movie with its overly simple cast, sets, plot, but even in it's simplicity it's not terrible. It reminds me of The Orphan. I enjoy these kind of movies, because they think outside the box, of the average film.

We watch Emma Grossman as she tries to navigate her dark impulses and appear normal to the world. We see this simple twist of a child who does her best to mimic emotion, out smart adults and get everything she wants.

The story is interesting in the fact that we know from the start what she is. And its fun to watch her try and trick everyone. The acting in the movie is poor, but Mckenna Grace shines. Somehow she held the film on her shoulders at such a young age, she has talent. Rob Lowe really didn't add much to the movie and the cheesy PG love thing really didn't help with the story. The lines were cringe in places and I swear that babysitter was a little bit psychopathic herself. But overall it kept my attention.

I'm very curious what the original 1956 film is like. If they compare at all.

  • Good Sequel

I watched the first and second film back to back, and I honestly enjoyed this one. I'm a big fan of cheesy horror and B movies. This one fits perfectly in that category. If you liked part one then I highly suggest watching part two.

From the first opening scenes I could tell Part two had a much higher budget and quality then part one. The filming is better, the music fits perfectly and it has a bigger bang to it. There are a lot more sets and stages to explore. And a better quality cast. What I really enjoyed is they brought back the original actress. Mckenna Grace is a great scream queen that really captures your attention. And she was what made the movie worth watching..

Yes, the story was cheesy and there's so may plot holes that make your eyes role. Especially when we came to the end. There really wasn't any satisfaction with how it ended. But the one thing I enjoy about the Bad Seed, is that from the beginning you know she's a killer. You get to see the film through her eyes and how she tries to fool everyone. It's a fascinating look at a psychopath and it's done in a way that's different then most movies. I find myself cheering her on. It has a lot of Dexter vibes.

I honestly wish they would make this into a series. It would flow really nice as a series. Especially with Mckenna Grace as the lead.

  • Boring

The original had so much heart and soul. It was a simple plot, with an epic story. And I was so excited for Part two. But was quickly disappointed. Part two felt so clunky. It was packed full of quick action scenes, lots of characters, annoying dialog and a plot that was so boring and predictable. Where's the originality? There was also so much CGI. And these odd slow motion scenes that felt very out of place.

I love Denzal Washington in this movie. It was the only thing I liked about it. And he felt like the only person actually "acting". He wasn't just saying lines, it felt genuine. And his role was really good. But everyone else in the entire film felt like they were reading a script. With no heart and soul. And unfortunately Paul Mescal was not the right actor for the lead role. Yes he looks and talks a lot like Russel Crowe. But he does not have the talent that Russel Crowe has. Nothing about him felt like i'd want to follow him into battle. And I could not feel this "rage" that he felt towards Rome. He barely showed any emotion. And had very few lines.

I had a hard time finishing the movie. The gladiator scenes were very grand and different compared to the first. They upped the scale. They were entertaining to watch. But the rest of the movie was hard to swallow. And so predictable to the point of being boring.

  • More Please

I binge watched this show, all ten episodes, and it ended too quickly. I really hope the series continues.

Funny Woman is a perfectly balanced series. That's down to earth, feels relatable and flows nicely with twists and turns. The first episode was a little clanky coming out of the gate, but it really picked up right after. We follow Beatrice Parker as she tries to make her way to fame as Sophia Straw. Through this journey we see the struggle to be a woman in this era and her own self discovery as a human being. The story is well written and compelling. It makes the series light even though it covers heavy topics. Its fun and enjoyable to watch. And above all the cast is perfect. There's not one actor I didn't like, everyone flows perfectly well together and makes a wonderful balance.

Its always fun to get a glimpse at what it would be like to be a normal person, struggling to get a role in the industry, and then becoming famous. We see the development of the character and those around her. It's a fascinating and fun story to watch. And feels completely relatable.
