  • Unlike most reviewers, I can't rest my case on this.

This is the worst film I have ever seen in my entire, beautiful life. Not only does it show that its bad, but the performances are so drivel and atrocious that I just sat there in disbelief. For those who saw this film back in '02, I ask them a very simple question: Why? I think Britney Spears should just stick to music videos. That's where her "real" talent comes alive.

This film will only appeal to hard-core horny males of brainless female pop stars trying to expand their popularity. Well Ms. Spears certainly excels in that department but if she ever appears in movies like this or any film, then Ms. Spears may run the risk of overstaying her welcome.

  • Great Sci-Fi

Surface has the making of a potential classic on TV. It's not totally sci-fi. It's a family drama, mystery, fantasy, and horror. There are moments of humor, especially with the two teenage boys and the girl whose related to them and character development with great special effects and suspense. Lake Bell is good as the main protagonist trying to discover the mysterious creature's origins, but I think the producers should give the audience more of her. The supporting cast is good as well. The chemistry between the characters is engaging and sometimes heartfelt.

Surface is the best show that I have seen and I'm confident that it has the potential to be another sci-fi TV classic.

  • With a movie title like this, its no wonder that movies are going downhill.

I think this film should have gone straight to video and I think I speak for everyone who saw this. It clearly demonstrates the lack of creativity and ingenuity in today's films. Never has a film title sounded so absurd and stupid; I mean You Got Served? With what? a foot in the A**? With a side of french fries with a burger? I can go on and on about cracking jokes on certain films, but that will have to do. I really do miss the golden age of movies since they didn't rely so heavily on sex, adult language, etc. They relied more on story and character development rather than overdose on special effects and corny dialog. Don't take this the wrong way; I love today's films such as The Matrix, Training Day, Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, and Batman Begins, as well as others, but I feel many of them are rushed and not developed enough. Today's audiences want more than special effects and action, they want a more coherent plot and character development. Unfortunately, in the case of You Got Served and other films like it, it falls into the trap of half-baked film making.

The sad truth is that movies like this aren't going away anytime soon.
