  • Over the years

This is the first movie I saw at the theater with my mother, back then as a child I was mesmerized by Travolta's looks and didn't know about SNF. Many years later as I grew older, I return to this movie, maybe of it being a comfortable place to be. The movie is far from perfect as Tony is very disfunctional and toxic, his girlfriend seems to be meek, his side girl is mostly a fantasy in his head because she's a great dancer but she sucks as a human. Sylvester Stallone's cameo has always been fun to catch but his brother's attempt at carrying a tune is borderline ridiculous, especially acting all jealous towards him when Jackie is in the club singing. I guess I keep going back to it because it's like comfort food, requires minimal effort, fills the void, it's good as background, can get a laugh or two out and that's just fine sometimes.

  • It is not as expected

I've followed Ricardo for a very long time and was excited about this opportunity to get an insider look at his growing family but this is not good. Clearly Marlene runs the show, she's dominant and has no qualms on speaking her mind. Ricardo seems like a different person, I don't know if it's the Christianity or just something else but this one seems lost and out of touch. The children are all spoiled untalented brats that think they are the last Coca Cola in the world. The daughter seems like a total diva and her husband wanna be singer is missing personality. The other kids, you can tell that they also lack the down to earthness of their dad or that he used to have. Everyone seems so high maintenance, don't think they are even trying to act, it's just how they are. I don't like the part of pushing the Christianity to everyone and everybody, not all of us are believers. I was trying to watch with an open mind but clearly this was made just for a good pay day.
