I loved the first two series they were fresh exciting and original all the characters were great they had good back stories and you knew what their reasons for doing the things were but then series three came and it started to get a bit annoying the characters weren't the same as they were at the beginning and it got a bit confus ofing and I'm not even gonna mention series 4 it was just stupid the character of Victor is such a miserable character I don't know if it's the writing or the way he's portrayed and then 5's motives completely change from the beginning the only character that stays the same is Klaus who is great all the way through but isn't in much of the 4th series so are all the other characters but they just seem to lose their way and it was all a bit rushed and disappointing.
I started watching this cause I wanted something easy to watch and this didn't let me down it's total trash the acting bad the story is ridiculous the effect are rubbish but for some reason I couldn't stop watching it, it's like watching Plan 9 From Outer Space it's so bad it's good if you know what I mean the characters are not really likable there are 20 something year olds playing teenagers with schizophrenic emotions the adults are full of guilt ridden storylines it's absolutely terrible but compelling at the same time I really couldn't stop watching it I cleared the first series and a couple of episodes of the second series in one sitting.
It's nowhere near as good as the boys there's no dark humour that makes the boys so good it's just a load of teen angst and I appreciate that as a 50 year old man this wasn't really made for me it's a young adult show but I was hoping it would be like the boys but sadly it wasn't that's not to say it's bad it's o.k if your it's target audience (young adult), there are a few funny bits but they just don't hit the mark, the acting is pretty good and the storyline is not bad it kept me entertained and I did want to know what was gonna happen so in that respect it's a good entertaining program but it's just lacking a little something.
The problem with this film is that it doesn't know what it is one minute it's a comedy ghost story the next it's a murder mystery then it's a coming of age drama and it fails at all of them really they could've cut at least half hour off then they could've settled on one genre but apart from all that it's well acted and directed and it's got a 90s vibe to it which made it a bit more enjoyable but it's forgettable and not the sort of film I'd watch again basically it's your typical Netflix film that they've been churning out week in week out the the past few years now I just wish they'd spend a bit more money and time into one or two film every couple of months instead of these sort of forgettable blah films.
But it's a solid 7 the actress who plays Wednesday (Jenna Ortega) is very good as is Christina Ricci and Gwendoline Christie where it falls flat is the casting of Catherine zeta Jones as Morticia who isn't terrible but not that good either and Luiz Guzman as Gomez, whoever thought that these two would be a good fit should be shot because between them they have zero chemistry and it's painful to watch, when I used to watch the old black and white Adams family and the later remakes with Angelica Houston and Raul Julia there was real sexual chemistry between the them and that's was what made it's so good but this lack that chemistry and even though they're only in a couple of episodes they felt awkward to watch but having said all that it's still a solid show and worth watching if you liked Sabrina on Netflix you'll like this it's very similar in that it takes away some of the humour and replaces it with horror.
This could have been good but it not, it's a load of rehashed clips from the film and a lot of set ups, Borat was satire at its best but now it's just sad and not funny these people whether you agree with their politics or not invited him into their home in a time of emergency and Sasha Baron Cohen had basically made a load of money taking this piss out of them and setting them up to fail you can see that they just want to help him out in a time of need and he back stabs them it very hard to watch, I used to like his comedy now he just makes me cringe.
Old is a good film on paper but it's ruined by a bad script and bad acting, I found myself just waiting for the characters to die not caring about them at all and at one point I burst into laughter (the pregnancy) but it's well shot and looks good but with a better script and better actors it could've been a really good film it's not original by any means the story is quite engaging and interesting I just wish they'd spent a bit more time on writing a better script and hired better actors.
I've just been to you see this film and wanted to walk out half way through it really started to get annoying the script is terrible the affects are sub par and except for Michael B Jordan, Andy Sirkis and Michonne from the walking dead the acting is pretty terrible the only reason I gave it 5 stars was that the kids really enjoyed it.
