A woman's painted portrait and a post card with a sketch of a woman's hand holding a Chianti bottle are the main clues used by the Scotland Yard to solve a string of murders connected to a diamond-smuggling ring.
It had the luminous look of a film noir, and is an above-average detective story, good Brit Noir with its American guest star Terry Moore. Though this is a British film, the outside influences make it seem more American
It's good of mystery movie, I can tell you that. It's the story of three brothers, one an artist (Robert Beatty), the second a freelance pilot (William Sylvester) and the third, an investigative reporter who dies in the first scene, even before the opening credits, in a car going up in flames after going over a cliff off an isolated Italian mountain highway.
An enjoyable crime drama with Noir touches. The film takes some time to get going but when it does there is a rich and complicated (though straight forward) plot. Well acted and well done...and well worth seeing. 7/10.

Stranger Things has delivered some unforgettable moments on television. Although having to wait 10 years for the final season is a bit much . But it is upon us Season 5 is airing tomorrow November 26 !! I am preparing and finally getting around to watching season 4 ! It is a long season .
The episodes in Stranger Things season 4 were longer due to the increased plot complexity, the need to properly develop each character's individual storylines, and the creative vision of the show's creators. The large ensemble cast and their stories being spread across different locations required more time, and a desire for more emotional depth led to a decision for longer episodes rather than rushing the narrative.
Season 4 had "quadruple the amount of plot" compared to season 3, making longer episodes necessary to fit everything in. With the cast split into different groups across the country, the creators needed more time to give each character and their relationships the emotional depth they deserved. The season features many emotional moments, with the final episodes being particularly suspenseful and action-packed. 8/10
The most recent season cranked up the scares with a heavy dose of Nightmare on Elm Street inspiration. With snapping bones and missing eyeballs, it is definitely the goriest chapter which appealed to me.
Stranger Things season 4 is a successful, if flawed, entry that successfully raises the stakes for the final season. 8/10
What's the Upside Down?
The Upside Down is an alternate reality that exists parallel to our world, except everything looks weird and gross there. You enter and exit the Upside Down through "gates," including the Mothergate, which is located at Hawkins National Laboratory. Was the Upside Down created by humans, or has it always existed? That may be a question answered by Season 5. Right now, all we know for sure is that the first time it was ever accessed was in 1979, when a younger Eleven sent Vecna there.

I just watched a noir musical!
The Strip is a 1951 American crime film noir starring Mickey Rooney and Sally Forrest The picture was shot largely on location in and around the Sunset Strip, including performances at the popular nightclubs Mocambo and Ciro's and scenes at the restaurants Little Hungary and Stripps. The work of Mickey Rooney, "A minor mystery story that's given some high gloss in its production by the MGM studio system, as Louis "Satchmo" Armstrong and his distinguished band made up of Jack Teagarden, Earl "Fatha" Hines, and Barney Bigard serenade us with a few numbers and there are various other jazz pieces included from singers Monica Lewis and Vic Damone. It's set on the intriguing Sunset Strip where Mickey Rooney plays the sincere little guy, Stanley Maxton, a jazz drummer who is accused of murder ... The breezy story line, the snappy jazz interludes, and some engaging scenes made it very appealing ... Rooney is super as the perennial victim who only finds his soul when he's lost in his music. The film effectively captured the existential mood and the glee derived from the club scene on the Strip. It's an above-average mystery story that could be categorized as film noir because of Rooney's pained expression as a victim of love If you've never seen Mickey Rooney as an adult, you'll be very pleasantly surprised at what he can do acting in a dramatic role .
The Strip is a good movie. It has great music and an interesting story, as well as classic noir-style black and white cinematography. Louis Armstrong and his band are given multiple full music scenes That are delightful.
And, like all good noirs, there's a twist ending, too.
