This film promises terror, suspense, and psychological torment. What it delivers is a lukewarm herbal tea of mild concern-served in a cup that apologizes for being too loud when placed on the saucer.
The plot meanders like a lost yoga instructor trying to find the right incense. The ghosts? Less "vengeful spirit" and more "disappointed librarian." I've seen more threatening apparitions in laundry detergent commercials-and at least those have better lighting and a coherent narrative arc.
The soundtrack, presumably composed by a sentient white noise machine, gently encourages you to drift off rather than lean in. Jump scares are replaced with polite coughs. At one point, a door creaks open and I swear the ghost whispered, "Sorry to bother you."
If you're looking for a horror movie that doubles as a guided meditation, The Healing is your jam. Just don't watch it expecting to be scared-unless your deepest fear is a slow plot and an overuse of soft focus.

The story is somewhat digestible, assuming you don't mind reality taking frequent coffee breaks. Plot points wander in and out like confused tourists, occasionally bumping into each other and pretending it was intentional.
Fortunately, the film distracts you enough with breathtaking scenery and good acting.
