This movie has some bad, but really bad, CG. well, all the CG in this movie are bad, not just some.... and there's not a lot, most of the "creature" parts are made with the old puppet way, seems to be cheaper from using CG.... music is not bad, but sometimes completely different types of music got into the main score, and we just paused the DVD to make sure none of the neighbors is listening to the radio...acting is terrible, OMG it is SO terrible, the lead actress is a disaster, and this is what might turn this garbage into a cult film, the other actress, the sister of the heroine is better, she is actually trying to act, which is not so good, because if she was as bad as her sister - this movie would surely get an Oscar for worst acting.

This movie was made because someone thought it's a good story, it is a good story, if told in another way. Why did these priests go to Japan? Obviously the Portuguese church wanted something there, but nothing about that, just about these 2 arrogant priests who go there to turn Buddhists into Christians, why? who made you Gods to decide that your belief is better than theirs? who gave you permission to turn these people from farmers to burnt bodies? Nothing is explained in this movie, it is like a boring docu. Very bad acting by everyone, except Ichizo, everyone cries, suffers, a big mess of stupid conversations - even i could give better answers to these "Serious religion type" nonsense questions. our hero eats a salty fish and is thirsty, an immediate comparison to Jesus is made, come on people!! All in all, not worth the time and the money. very badly told story.

Could have been really crazy, but i guess that for most people this is crazy enough. it's not an eight, but its more than 7 :)) the idea is obvious, the whole film is quite predictable, what makes it so much fun are the people in it, the actors and whoever appears in it. There are no excuses here for the nonsense, no one pretends it's a Fellini movie, it's a fun gig, good time descent jokes thingy. the people responsible for this film could have gone further, make this movie really top the nut charts, but they restrained themselves, for their own reasons, and yet, some parts were completely mad. So, if you want to have some good fun, watch it!
