I have not read the book, so I'll only speak about the film. I enjoyed this movie and although there are some long-winded scenes which make the film unnecessarily long I think the movie does a good job. Also, I think Kenneth Branagh is very charming as Poirot.
What I didn't like is partly the bad green-screen stuff. I mean, some scenes are not crafted well thus, the green is almost visible. It looks very unnatural.
Other than that, I think it's an enjoyable movie which nudges the viewer to step into the footsteps of Poirot. Who did it and how did it happen etc.

Just watched this over-hyped movie and to be perfectly honest, my gut-feeling was right when I saw the trailer a couple of weeks back.
Sure, Di Caprio delivers as usual, no issue there. Penn is very very good, Del Toro does what he's hired to do, as expected. But the chaotic storytelling is utterly horrible, plus the story doesn't do it for me. Not because it's non-linear, it's just pure chaos. The movie is good in losing the viewer every 10 minutes and winning him half-way back afterwards.
The political woke messages are simply annoying and to me it seems, once again, Hollywood tries to sell this mess as originality when in fact they're really out of ideas. Period.

This is one of the most difficult TV Shows I have seen in recent years. Difficult because the cinematic beauty is in constant conflict with the narrative pace.
Difficult because it challenges and even breaks all the conventional rules of the TV show landscape. Difficult because Miles Teller, who we are used to seeing in very different roles and performances, is so different here.
I can well imagine that many who expected a "play it safe" action TV show will hate "Too Old to Die Young*.
However, I believe that if you get into this pace, not just consume this work, but observe the characters, look them in the face and eyes, inspect their body language, then you will discover a real gem that you will begin to love.
