Life Below Zero: Next Generation (2020)
Millennial Camping Out
This show SUCKS! I was barely able to get through 3 episodes of Season 2 before throwing in the towel. You got a family with a ton of money and a private plane pretending they are roughing it. You have an "Army Paratrooper" with a $2500 Benelli semi-automatic 12-gauge shotgun. And a drama queen who cut his leg and complained like his leg had been totally severed. I've seen 18yo kids with real injuries in combat not do 1% of the crying this dude did with his "took 7 big stitches to close it up" injury. Did he mean 700 or even 70? The few film shots of the injury at a distance showed very little blood. With a major leg wound, there would have been blood on everyone! It's pathetic!
Like many others who have submitted reviews, I hated the loud background music. But, the biggest complaint are the "characters". There is not one on this series I can relate to or have any connection with. Which is kind of important for a series. More than anything I was rooting for them to lose it and go back to the city. Sue Aiken and Glen Villanueva were my favorite characters on the original Life Below Zero. They were genuinely tough and actually lived it.
These pansies are a joke!
Gisaengchung (2019)
Favorite Film of 2019
Family of cons get in deeper than they intended while trying to live a life they don't deserve. Unexpected twists and startling action, which does not deviate too far from possible reality.
El hoyo (2019)
Twisting Whirlwind of Suspense
This dark whirlwind of suspense and emotion keeps you guessing and analyzing the entire time. Thoughtful storyline with deep characters who you love to hate, and root on to succeed.
Light of My Life (2019)
Dry, Stale dialog and unbelievable naiveté
In a time when everyone are animals doing anything they can to survive, everyone would have weapons. Seven years on, the father would not be still thinking "I'll try not to hurt them." BS He would kill and not feel guilty to protect his daughter.
Anvil: The Story of Anvil (2008)
Stubborn Perseverance
Beyond middle-age rockers who don't know when to quit, to their detriment. Although a beautiful story of dedication, brotherly love and the love of Rock-n-Roll, it is a sad and depressing look into the lives of those who put all their eggs in the basket of rock stardom and had no fall back plan. Anvil continues to rock on and hold out hope of some level of rock superstardom, even when the reality of school-cafeteria-food-delivery-guy is their reality. Not all stories have a happy ending and this one is a great example.
