Like most viewers, I was led to believe that this movie was a Slender Man knock off. It's so much more and the prologue by itself is fantastic. If you like surrealist horror than you'll enjoy this one. Also, if you like to have the plot nicely wrapped and explained to you, this movie may annoy you. I'm looking forward to more projects from this director. I gave this a 7 as it was a little bloated (with a long run time) and would have probably worked better as a mini-series. I can see this film becoming a cult classic.
I was engaged from the first episode. This is a clever and original blend of dark comedy with the thriller/mystery genres. I can see some people being put off but if you enjoy bleak comedy, you'll most likely enjoy this show, especially if you like a good thriller/mystery. Recommend.
If your able to ignore the political issues regarding where the movie was filmed, it's not a bad film at all (unlike most of these reviewers state). This type of film isn't even my cup of tea but I was engaged the whole time. I honestly didn't expect to like the movie as I'm not a Disney fan but I recommend it. It was well-made and well-cast, with an obvious huge budget.
