This episode is a pretty fun one i'd say, I'd say it's up there on the top of 13's run but that doesn't really say anything with how the show has been going thus far. This episode is definitely not without its flaws and it sure does have them. The inclusion of old timer characters and monsters definitely felt a bit fan servicey but despite that, I personally still appreciated it and made this special feel a bit more like part of the new who series that the previous seasons of Chibnall failed to do so (seeming as if it's an entirely different show now and not like when moffat took over, sure the show changed but it didn't feel like a whole different tv series). The daleks actually invoked some fear as they have shown and talked about the mass production of them throughout the episode that it makes their threat pretty conceivable to the audience. Dialouge still leaves something to be desired and felt a bit lackluster. The goodbye for the 2 companions were not as emotional as i think the writers had in mind but is still okay enough and had their arcs tied up as can be. Overall, Id rate this episode a 7/10 but rated it an 8 just to tip the ratings a bit
Nolan has gone way too overbaord for this one and it did not pay in his favor. You'll spend most of the film trying to comprehend what's happening and still barely being able to piece everything together. Many say it's better in a second watch but it should not be necessary for a movie to be watched twice in order for it to be an enjoyable watch.
This is one of the episodes i remember despising the most watching s04 the 1st way round, I enjoyed it way more the 2nd way round but the problems it had the 1st time are still very much apparent. This episode is a perfect representation of the way this season made me feel, in paper, it should feel like community right? The use of puppets, getting out of the norm shenanigans, you know, just like Abed's uncontrollable christmas. But it wasn't the case, this episode just made me feel like how i felt the entire season, like it was trying to recreate what the 1st seasons had but to a very mediocre attempt. It was okay but thats just about it, the 1st seasons felt inventive and you can feel the creativity of the creator and writers behind it but this episode, like this season just felt like an imitation and that was it's number one flaw. I would rate this episode a 5 from how i felt before but now im gonna have to give it a 6.5 (made it a seven cause it's closer to a seven to me now than a 6)
