Not a likeable character amongst them and that includes the children.
A drama about self-centred American working Moms, in dysfunctional marriages, living in glass houses without soul.
Throw in a nanny with MH issues and relatives with addiction problems and the script writes itself. The whole lot could have and should have been done in 4 episodes (if that?).
The only guy who got it right was the husband who pretended he was at work to try and make his wife spend more with their son, rather than flouncing her blonde locks around Chicago skyscrapers.
I recommend you give this one a miss.

Started watching this hoping it would fill the enormous void that Yellowstone has left. I'm not American so don't really understand all the nuances associated with being a Landman.
I naively thought it might be like Dallas another viewing void that has never been filled. Simply because it's about oil and set in Texas. Nothing like.
The women in Landman set women's rights back about 100 years in the way that their characters have been written. All the women in Dallas were strong and used their sexuality with some degree of subtlety. Not so here, the Landman has an ex-wife and daughter who think they are God's gift and every reference about them and to them is about sex. Both seem to revel in it and bring nothing else to the table.

I was expecting something along the lines of the film made in the 1960s with Montgomery Clift, that being largely court room based with testimony from those affected.
I did not read any reviews beforehand. If I had, I may not have gone to the cinema. This is a very difficult, intense film to watch and not one that I feel comfortable recommending to others.
The title is too broad as it says nothing about what the subject matter is. I think it should use the same title as the book so that it is quite clear that it focuses on the work of a psychiatrist trying to understand a Nazi.
The acting is superb and no doubt will win awards. The atmosphere of post war Nuremberg was also depicted very well.
