This series was truly great for the first two seasons but has unfortunately gone massively downhill with season three. The writing, the character decisions & behavior, the dialogue itself has all dropped in quality. Hardly any of what made the first two seasons so good is still here. All that's left is annoying, unlikable characters who do things that make zero sense based on their characters up to this point.
I'll continue without saying anything new as this site insists on a huge character limit...It gets really boring, predictable and quite honestly annoying watching this group of shallow characters.

First of all this was far worse than "X" or "Pearl" and is definitely the weakest in this trilogy of films from Ti West and Mia Goth, who have both impressed with their previous work don't get me wrong.
This film falls so flat that by the end I just couldn't take anymore, at points it felt like a cheap parody of itself complete with terribly written dialogue, particularly come the third act.
This movie tries to be ten things at once while somehow managing to fail at every single turn. It fails at being a thriller, it never builds any tension, there are zero scares, maybe two weak slasher-horror moments, it fails as a hollywood mystery and fails as a private eye noir flick (don't ask why they threw all this into one movie about a pornstar who wants to act...)
Mia Goth is clearly quite a decent actor as is clear in some of her previous roles, but here the cocky southern girl act just felt so weak and even forced at times. Which is weird since it's the same director and actor.
Technically the film does nothing innovative or interesting. Which if it had done so, could have made some of the failures of the film acceptable but it just fails here too with generic camera work, a bland soundtrack and just overall average visuals.
I've definitely had enough of this recipe.

This film was very well put together by all involved, I feel that films with such a feeling of quality are getting fewer and further between these days so it is always a welcome enjoyment in finding one.
This film feels as though it could of been made twenty years ago and I mean that in the best way possible, nice to see this director has still got it.
Right from the start the film holds a commanding yet calming presence, things are uneasy yet also tranquil in this near dream-like mystery.
The deep atmosphere produced by the film is, I feel, a direct result of skillful and interesting camera work, great music perfectly encapsulating each scene and the cast performing at a high level. All masterfully woven together.
Definitely recommend to any fans of slow/atmospheric mystery, I find it hard to give this any lower than an 8/10.
