Unfriended: Dark Web (2018)
What a waste of time.
Well to start off, it's another one of those movies seen and done entirely through a computer monitor. So some dude "finds" a Macbook in lost and found and somehow got the password right and logs in. Tells his friends that he bought a new one and not sure why he had to lie about that in the first place but he did. He is developing an app to help him sign with his girlfriend so they can communicate better. Then hopes on a Skype call after arguing with her to have a game night with his friends. Then he tells the truth and says he found it and brought it home and they find all sorts of videos including murder and all that jazz and everyone freaks out. After that, the bad people finds out he has it then threatens his girlfriends life saying give it back, he finds the banking app with crypto currency then transfers it out in retaliation only to be played by the guy messaging him. Then everyone else starts to get hacked and found out where they are and takes out his friends one by one and making them look like suicides and even gets the SWAT team to kill one of them mind you, you see all of this from a monitor. Makes one girl choose between her lover and her mother and somew how hack the life support and take out her mother and still kill the lover. In the end everyone dies and I did not see the point in everyone dying and I hate these modern type "Hacker" movies where this on the fly thing is happening in real time and people are being superimposed onto recordings and the fact that the SWAT team shot him over them playing the sound of a shotgun being racked. Speaker sounds are not that realistic... All in all don't waste your time on this movie there is hardly a plot line and no character development. I have wasted an hour and half of my life on this not including this review. Save it for something actually thrilling and not some high school scary waste of time. Believe me, I'm doing you a favor.
The Fate of the Furious (2017)
What has happened to this series.
Where do I begin, this one was so far out that it made me wonder if this was a sci-fi movie or a national security type. There was nothing about the love of the drive or cars in this one. The story starts in Cuba where all seems to be going well then out of nowhere BOOM! Charlize Theron's character comes out of nowhere and shows Dom a picture on the phone and the backstabbing begins. He does all of this in a large sequence to get Hobbs locked up only to break out with Jason Statham and they all come together to try and stop him after he stole the item they were all working to ensure security. After your left confused as to why he is doing this, There is the Brazilian from the previous movies and she has his baby. You read that right a baby and he will stop at nothing all of a sudden to make sure nothing happens to them. So after keeping Leti from being killed from one of the other mercenaries, it was at the cost of losing the mother of his child shot in the head at point-blank for his mistake. During the same time, Statham was shot only to come back with his brother Shaw to help him get the child back to him all the while he was out running a missile in a car that hit a snow bank and skips off to turn around and hit the same place it came from. This one was not the same nor did it have anything really in common with the other ones. The only similarity was the team and how they all worked together. Unless your a die hard fan or just need to see it because you have been watching since the first one, then wait for it HBO or Red Box. It was not worth the money at a theater. Last but not least this was one of the most predictable movies that I have ever seen. My apologies for the random sentencing of this but this is how the movie was, went from one part to the next not giving any information on what is actually going on. I hope this helps some of you that are debating this, it was not horrible but it just was not the same as the rest of them.
Dirty Grandpa (2016)
Such a waste of time and money.
Truly wish I could get this time back in my life...
I'm going to keep this short, but to this day I can still not comprehend what the actual point of this movie was. There was no real plot outline nor plot to it. There was a lot of talk about penis' and all that as well as crude behavior. The closest movie I can relate this too is the Wedding Ringer except that movie was a lot better in the sense there was a point it. My recommendation is to save your money and Red Box this or wait for it on Netflix. If your tripping on acid or something of the sort you might get what this movie is about and I still can not believe that De Niro is in something like this. I was left in utter confusion and frustration. Lets hope there will not be a second cause honestly I have no idea how or why...
Unfriended (2014)
Glad I did not pay to see this.
This was pretty much the worse waste of time. The movie just jumps right into a chat with a bunch of teenagers after showing a suicide movie of their "beloved" friend. Apparently she was forced into that by all the bullying or embarrassing videos on the web. The entire movie was in the view of the main character Blair, and you get to see all the little windows on Skype, hear all the wrong sounds for the programs and more hard drive noise on the Mac she was using that a windows 95 computer. Now the first one dies of a seizure I think then the fat one,"only after he finds a video source of some sort behind him in his room" puts his hand in a blender then breaks it but apparently in this movie everything works after it's broken and drills it into his neck. You get a little more of the story as the killings continue finding out who slept with who and posted what and so forth. The only thing is everyone dies, the height of the plot was really lackluster and the best part of the acting was the crying because, that was the only convincing part. I just did not see a point in this one and I'm really happy that I did not waste $20 to see it in the theater. Even reviewing this right after I have just seen it I still do not get it. It would have been better if it was made like an actual scary spiritual movie like any other horror where people can interact with the entity. No! Instead it was on a flipping computer screen the entire time with limited visibility on kills or deaths which really was disappointing to say the least. So if your a 15 year old teenager this might work, any regular adult, don't waste your time unless you are that interested in BS drama with death involved.
Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens (2015)
So much controversy
Well I must say that there were some things in this movie that was unexpected, and without going into detail and mentioning any spoilers I will say that I was impressed. I just can't believe that there has been so much negativity about this movie claiming the story made no sense and the acting was horrible. Well I will have to say that I disagree. A New Hope was laid out the same way where you were not left with a whole lot of information until Empire Strikes Back was released, and I think that most people forget about this and how it was to see the first one. All I have to say is watch this one from the stand point that the story is not ever and there is plenty more development of story and characters. I do believe that this will be one of the best trilogies of all time, and it will make all the more sense when the next installment is released. I only have this a 9 instead of 10 because I did feel there was a little more missing or maybe I missed it but who knows but, I can tell you I will be seeing this film a few more times and I'm sure it will be better the second time as you can catch more of the story now that the excitement of the new movie is gone. I will say go see it and if you don't like it, then you do not have any concept of what a good film is. Props to J.J. Abrams for doing this the right way!
Fast & Furious 7 (2015)
Becoming a spy series
I gave this a 7 only because the action was pretty cool. As this one follows directly behind the last one and Tokyo Drift the story becomes more complicated again. This time the tech is brought to the next level and has nothing to do with the cars or really anything that has been portrayed in the last films. All of the movies that have transpired since the first 2 have had nothing to do with racing or the lifestyle that we all loved with the first one. In this one Leti all of sudden gets her memory back at the right time, Hobbs is injured for most of the movie and the rest of it turns into a Mission Impossible movie. All of the "hacks" and equipment in this movie make all of the cars and stunts really irrelevant. Drones hacking materials and the big brother of Shaw that will not die. I really hope if there are anymore of these films they will go back to their roots instead of all over the globe in search for a criminal. If I wanted to see a movie about awesome gear and tracking down bad guys then I would go for the new Mission Impossible. Point to this is do not go into this thinking that it is going to be any different from other movies, there is nothing special about this other than the ridiculous stunts that a car would never make it through and, the slow start and pacing time throughout the film. I find myself with each of these newer Furious titles that I would only really want to see it once as they are getting that ridiculous.I truly do hate the fact that this is my view on these now as I have been to every opening of these films since the first one and because they are so far fetched, it is really hard to enjoy them.
The Amazing Spider-Man 2 (2014)
Not all that Amazing.
Good movie but they are trying to do way too much with it. Character building was way too fast with certain characters. Story line is set up to be in the past to explain then jumping to the future to present time in order to find out what was going on with his father. Like I said way too confusing but it is that fast. There was barely any time to build Harry Osborn up at all. And one character was introduced as himself then the villain. That's all I really have for now because I do not want there to be any spoilers. Not to mention the movie was 2 hours long with some action sequence in it, visually it was amazing like the title, but as an actual story line...meh
Spaceballs (1987)
one of my favorite cameos
As I have been a Geek most of my life and I love this one. I am a huge Star Wars fan and this is one of those spoofs or cameos that really can bring the comedy without pissing you off. I love the way they altered the characters and their names. Darth Vador = Dark Helmet, Princess Leia = Princess Vespa. It's the little things that makes this movie so enjoyable. It is something you can watch with your entire family or even those hardcore friends of yours and they will still get a kick out of it. I don't know if anyone who will read this has not seen it but you haven't, please do after you read this, you will not be disappointed in doing so.
Golden Boy (2013)
Sad that it is gone but great while it lasted.
This truly was one of the best shows that I have ever seen. This was right up there with NYPD Blue, not your typical cop show but more of a relationship between cops and a realistic look of how the corruption works. I hate when they cancel a show with such a great ending that leaves you expecting more and because of ratings this is one that fell to the failing rating system. I just hope they see some of the positive feedback about this show like ABC did with "Heroes" and try to start it up again (they are doing a mini-series). So sad but I would highly recommend this one to be watched even if the ending is not a real ending. Blame the rating system and network for that one. The pair of Theo James and Chi McBride make it all the more better.
