Going For Gold is inspired by the true story of Frankie Lucas, a middleweight British Boxer from St Vincent. Savagely overlooked by the British Team for both the 1972 Olympics and 1974 Commonwealth Games. Frankie goes to Christchurch to prove the selectors wrong oblivious to the barriers waiting for him on his return. A tale of belonging redemption and family. Going for Gold examines the cost of battling the system but is ultimately a love story.
