​Burr Trail is a mostly paved road from Boulder to Capitol Reef National Park. Burr Switchbacks are the most famous part of the Trail, but it also accesses Long Canyon, Muley Twist Canyon and Wolverine Petrified Forest.

Long Canyon has high steep walls and beautiful rock formations.  It is a joy to drive.

Pull off the road and walk a couple hundred yards to the back of an impressive slot canyon.  Short, quick walk but well worth the time.  There is no sign - use the waypoint or watch for it on the northwest side of the canyon.

The canyon opens up a bit east of the slot canyon.

The section between Long Canyon and the switchbacks has distant views but nothing of particular note.  Some guides will tell of Lamp Stand Mesa 5 miles north of Burr Trail.  Do not bother.  It looks like any other mesa.

Peek-A-Boo Rock and the Burr Switchbacks are on the eastern end of the road.
