Quick post so share my new hair style and MOTD (makeup of the day). I’ve always felt that a short bob and bangs are my style, I’ve even heard friends calling it the “Laura hair”. Maybe I grow it back one day, but right now I’m really feeling my shorter hair. Edgy pixie with some buzz cut makes me feel energized, sassy.. even sexier! Combined with a bold color and I feel so confident!

Best Salon in Helsinki (With The Best Service)

My hair is still done by Sumi Moreno of Dandy Hair Salon in Helsinki. Dandy recently opened a new salon at Fredrikinkatu, which looks amazing and the location is spot on. I either go there or Fine & Dandy at Vaasankatu in Kallio. Vaasankatu salon is together with café Pequeño where you can get amazing espresso and great decaf coffee beans. If you’ve been following me on Instagram you might have seen that I try to reduce my caffeine intake.. sigh.

Last time I had my green hair touched up Sumi said “What about yellow next?” At first I was shocked. Nooo way, I don’t want to look like a blonde-gone-wrong or anime character. I let this thought sink in a couple of weeks and I re-evaluated my attitude: maybe I wanted to look like anime character? Maybe I wanted to stop the traffic?

So when I came to my appointment I requested Sumi to do yellow. I trust her, she always does an amazing job. My only other request was to blend the buzz cut sides to the style, otherwise I gave Sumi free hands. She chose neon yellow! Before my appointment there was a client who had a gorgeous orange-strawberry blonde pixie done by Sumi to cover grey hairs. We got kinda inspired, so Sumi decided she’ll do me an orange mullet. It came out perfect! I think this is one of my very favorite hair styles to the date. The yellow IS actually neon, it almost glows with hint of green when you stare it long enough.

For the makeup I focused on skin and lips; bright, almost neon pink lipstick compliments the bright cool yellow. I used similar peach tones for my eyes to match with my mullet. Finished with eyeliner and falsies.
