You're 10 minutes away from the end of a 4-hour class and still have 15 minutes of content to present. It may have happened because your attendees were asking important questions. No matter the reason, there is still important content to present. This situation happens all the time but with some foresight, you can make it feel planned versus a crisis. All it takes is due diligence on your part to create a downloadable summary PDF. In those last 10 minutes, recap your takeaways. Then let your audience know that there is a downloadable PDF that will recap everything and also include some additional information for them to use. Now they'll have a takeaway from your presentation, and although it takes extra work, you'll be glad you did it!

What helps here is: - Strong storyline with simple content to follow - Powerful visuals that resonate well with the messaging - Setting up timer + rehearsing before to limit the amount of details you want to convey - Making pauses to let audience ask questions and/or reflect individually on the matter during your pitch - Engaging participants by asking open questions, paraphrasing their reactions to ensure all is well understood - Make a clean yet specific summary page to wrap up. Reiterate again the main points of attention - If time is running out - have plan B to skip few less relevant slide(s) in order to address the key points in time

When pressed for time, quickly identify the key points that deliver the most value. Focus on the main takeaway you want the audience to remember. Skip detailed explanations and stick to concise, impactful statements. For example, instead of explaining every product feature, highlight the one that solves the audience's biggest problem. Wrap up by reiterating the central message, ensuring clarity. It’s helpful to have a short version of your presentation ready for situations like this, allowing you to pivot without losing impact.
