While I haven’t had the chance to contribute to AR apps yet (hopefully soon!), I really enjoy exploring and using AR whenever I can. If I were to develop an AR app, my main focus would be the end user experience - creating something that truly resonates with people. I love games, so that would likely be my angle. Understanding what will attract people to your experience is crucial. It’s all about identifying that addictive element that keeps them coming back for more. Whether it’s the thrill of discovery, a sense of achievement, or just pure fun, nailing that aspect will make your AR app truly engaging. PVP Office Desk Fighter incoming! 👾

Many AR projects are setup to failure right from the initial planning stages. Implementing AR tech might be something exciting, but does it solve any problem? Does it have the potential to be better than the solutions already available? These are some of the questions one should ask themselves before starting a project. AR has many advantages over traditional media, being more interactive leads to higher user retention being one examples. Having a clear idea of your target audience, the platforms and ease of use of various AR capabilities are some of the areas that are often neglected in the planning stage and are discussed in the marketing stage which should be addressed.

In my AR development experience, a few effective strategies include: User-Centered Design: Engaging users early to tailor experiences to their needs. Rapid Prototyping: Testing prototypes quickly to gather feedback and iterate. Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Involving experts from different fields for innovative solutions. I’m eager to hear what has worked for others!

You should research your audience thoroughly to tailor the AR experience to their needs for better engagement. Choosing the right platform is another critical step; ensure it fits the scale and complexity of your project. Don’t overlook fidelity or the quality of the 3D model you want your experience to have. High-quality 3D models are at the heart of every AR experience and can make or break immersion. Providing value through precision and detail is critical to success.

In my experience incorporating AR into the early stages of a project/campaign instead of a bolt on at the end because there’s some budget left over really produces much better results. Conversely understanding the true narrative of the AR project and how you want the user to feel during and after the experience in the early stages really helps create a much better result.

1. Define Clear Objectives 2. Understand Your Audience 3. Choose the Right Platform & Understand the limitations 4. Make sure expectations are aligned 5. Don't forget the user experience - it's key.
-
When planning to develop an AR project, it’s crucial to focus on the following aspects: Define the Problem: Ensure the AR application addresses a specific issue or enhances existing solutions. Know Your Audience: Understand who your users are and what they need to create an engaging experience. Select Appropriate Platforms: Choose platforms that align with your target audience and the features you want to implement. Prototype Early: Start with a minimum viable product (MVP) to gather user feedback, allowing for adjustments before full-scale development. By prioritizing these areas, we can create meaningful AR experiences that truly resonate with users. Excited to see what innovations come next! 🚀✨
