Wonderful, as always, to be in conversation with Rose Scott, host of Closer Look, at WABE! It's fitting we spoke on #WorldHumanRightsDay as we discussed how millions of women and families around the world are suffering over this past year marked by massive aid cuts and worsening humanitarian crises. CARE has been working in this challenging landscape to build upon decades of collaboration and solidarity to continue reaching communities with life-saving aid. We are following the lead of our team members and participants around the world to create new resilient and agile pathways of extending our reach, even in the face of great adversity - from giving girls a chance to finish their education to reaching survivors of sexual violence. It felt fitting to join Rose during Pledge Week and see how generous donors are stepping up to support public radio like WABE and organizations like CARE to meet the moment. https://bit.ly/4prBojc

Sudan is facing one of the world’s fastest-growing displacement crises and funding cuts are pushing families past the brink. Violence against women and girls is a learned behavior, and it thrives when society excuses, ignores, or enables it. Ending it requires more than words, it requires action. Men and allies have a critical role to play: reflecting on their own behavior, challenging harmful norms, and standing up for women’s safety wherever they see abuse. Every woman deserves to live #WithoutFear. By speaking out, intervening, and holding ourselves accountable, we can help build a world where that’s possible. 🌍 Join us the movement at care.org/WithoutFear

One year after major changes in #Syria, the crisis is far from over: • 16.5M people still need humanitarian aid • The response is only 29% funded • Women, children & displaced families face the greatest risks CARE has reached 1.7M+ people this year, but critical programs are at risk without sustained funding. Syrians deserve safety, dignity, and the chance to rebuild. https://lnkd.in/e_mFahKu
