About us
It all started with an idea at Block in 2013. Initially built to take the pain out of peer-to-peer payments, Cash App has gone from a simple product with a single purpose to a dynamic ecosystem, developing unique financial products, including Afterpay, to provide a better way to send, spend, invest, borrow and save to our 50+ million monthly active customers. We want to redefine the world’s relationship with money to make it more relatable, instantly available, and universally accessible. This is our mission, and it’s why working at Cash App means so much more than a job. Today, Cash App has thousands of employees working globally across office and remote locations, with a culture geared toward innovation, collaboration and impact. We’ve been a distributed team since day one, and many of our roles can be done remotely from the countries where Cash App operates. No matter the location, we tailor our experience to ensure our employees are creative, productive, and happy.

Tomorrow marks one of the biggest moments yet for Cash App. Our team started with a few big questions: – What if banking benefits came from how people actually use their money, not just from having direct deposit?* – What if teens could earn interest on savings?** – What if AI could improve the Cash App experience? Tomorrow, we get to show what we’ve been working on. Tune in at cash.app/new ___ *See product disclaimers in the comments

Thrilled to have joined an incredible panel at Money20/20 — “The Next Era of Cash Flow Data: Expanding Credit Access.” Our discussion dove deep into how cash flow data is transforming credit — moving from static credit reports to a dynamic view of real financial behavior. It’s an evolution that’s helping to bridge the credit gap for underserved populations by using real-time insights instead of outdated proxies. We explored how technology and innovation — from machine learning-driven cash flow analysis to API-powered credit decisioning — are shaping a more inclusive financial system. The conversation also touched on the exciting frontier of embedded finance and real-time credit, where access meets automation. At Square Financial Services, we’re proud to be part of this next era — leveraging specialized cash flow data from our ecosystem to drive better lending decisions: 🏦 Square for business lending, helping entrepreneurs access capital tailored to their operations. 💰 Cash App for consumer lending, meeting people where they are with data that reflects their real financial lives. A huge thank you to Michelle (Boros) Young for moderating such a thoughtful conversation — and to Luke Voiles and Ratinder Bedi for sharing their insights and leadership as we collectively pioneer the future of credit access. #Money2020 #Fintech #FinancialInclusion #CashFlowData #CreditInnovation

Nothing says "organic content" quite like discussing it while surrounded by actual organic matter hanging from the ceiling 🌿 Had an awesome time on stage today at Money20/20 with some absolute marketing & branding experts!! Here’s what I shared: A year ago, I couldn't have predicted the pivot we'd make at Cash App for our storytelling work. We're by no means abandoning polished content in marketing. Instead, we're being strategic about when to use it. The rationale is that most days, what our team is calling ‘lo-fi content’ is what’s actually connecting with today’s audiences: content that feels real, authentic, and a little unpolished. Particularly for us and I’m sure many of my peers in content and social, brand partnerships have become essential to how we reach people. But it’s important to clarify! Brand partnerships are not logos slapped onto things - they’re genuine and natural collaborations that create stories worth telling. When you combine authentic, always-on content with the right partners, you get something that cuts through the noise. I love being tapped into culture and trends, and today, it feels like both move at a breakneck pace. Trends that would've lasted months now expire in weeks. We've pushed ourselves to rethink how we show up - being always on, investing in organic distribution, and accepting that what worked yesterday might not work tomorrow. Huge respect to my fellow panelists and new friends who brought their own perspectives to our Money Talk: - Amanda Werth Stewart (The Clearing House) on internal storytelling - Michael Marinello (JPMorganChase) with the reality check: "Our biggest competitor is your time and attention" - Abby Trexler (Vested) shepherding the convo and keeping us honest about planning cycles For us at Cash App, what’s helping our team with our storytelling efforts is starting from the assumption that no one cares. Then create content, whether lo-fi or polished, that you yourself would actually want to watch. It’s kinda like those plants above the stage today. The best content grows when you stop trying so hard to make it perfect 🌱 Also massive shout out to Playa Society, Esther Wallace and Maria Butt for the fashion drip today. I was so proud to rep the Playa Socity & Cash App collab. #paysomerespecttowomenssports 💚

Full house at 9:30am on a Sunday - proof that fighting fraud never sleeps 😎 Yesterday’s Money20/20 panel on “The 8 Data-Sharing Obstacles That Enable Fraud - and What To Do About Them” drew a packed crowd - even a few standing in the back. Loved sharing the stage with Kelley Andersen (Microsoft), Lyanna Liu(SoFi), and Hartley Thompson III (Microblink). A few takeaways: 💡 Fraud moves fast - data doesn’t. Collaboration, not just models, is the next unlock. 🤖 At Cash App, real-time scam warnings have already stopped over $2B in potential scam payments. 🤝 The future of fraud prevention is shared intelligence - secure, explainable, and ecosystem-wide. #Money2020 #FraudPrevention #AI #Fintech #TrustAndSafety #RiskManagement
