Needing a cast for a broken bone tends to be an uncomfortable experience, from having to refrain from getting the cast wet to itchiness, among other constraints. Cast21, a developer of orthopedic medical products, developed a waterproof and lightweight cast that is also breathable and more comfortable for people to use when needed. At the moment, the cast is recommended for upper extremity breaks and people who will not need follow-up surgery. The cast works by sliding a sleeve onto the arm and then filling it with a fast-curing resin that hardens within minutes and creates the necessary structure!
