POV: You’re a lifeguard on patrol in Mission Beach! With warmer days ahead, thousands of residents and visitors will be out at City beaches. We want you to have a safe and enjoyable experience! Be aware of potential rip currents, ocean hazards and jellyfish stings! Lifeguards will be ready to help. Stop by a tower to see if there are any hazards and remember you can always speak with lifeguards for safety information or water conditions. Bonus points if you spot our Triton fireboat in this video 👀 For more water safety tips, visit https://lnkd.in/gGft6DK6

📢 We’re excited to announce that we’ve received a generous grant to support the City’s Extreme Heat Action Plan! ☀️ This plan will help address extreme heat through smart land use strategies and close collaboration with communities in the City’s most heat-vulnerable neighborhoods. Together, we’ll identify on-the-ground cooling projects that help keep everyone safe. This work is part of a regional partnership led by @the San Diego Regional Climate Collaborative, with the cities of San Diego, Chula Vista and La Mesa working together to build a more heat-resilient future. This initiative was selected through a competitive process led by the Extreme Heat and Community Resilience Program (EHCRP), part of the Governor's Office of Land Use and Climate Innovation (LCI) #ClimateResilientSD #HeatSafety #StayCoolCA
