The event “Lesson from Transilvania: Boosting Competitiveness through Innovation and Education”, organised by Confindustria Romania, Babeș-Bolyai University and the ECCC, brought together diverse perspectives to explore the links between cybersecurity, competitiveness, and innovation in rapidly evolving times.     Last week, ECCC Executive Director Luca Tagliaretti participated in the Heads of #EUAgencies Network meeting in Brussels 🇧🇪. The discussions focused on shared priorities and covered topics such as: 🔹Modernising public administration 🔹Internal audit frameworks 🔹Positive working environments and anti-harassment policies 🔹Strengthening collaboration and the structure of the EU Agencies Network The ECCC reaffirmed its commitment to close cooperation with other EU agencies and to strengthen #cybersecurity across the Union.

    On 15-16 October, the Governing Board of the ECCC convened in León 🇪🇸 for its 14th meeting. The two-day session focused on strategic and operational priorities, including: 🔹Updates on the ECCC programme implementation under the Digital Europe Programme (DEP) and Horizon Europe 🔹The development of the cyber community and the establishment of a Strategic Advisory Group 🔹ECCC’s role in the next Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF 2028–2034) and its contribution to strengthening Europe’s cybersecurity capacities and competitiveness. The Board also welcomed Mihai Lupascu, Director of Moldova Cybersecurity Agency (ASC), for an exchange on the latest developments and the cybersecurity landscape in the country. Thank you Felix A. Barrio (PhD, CISM), Miguel Angel Cañada and the entire INCIBE - Instituto Nacional de Ciberseguridad team for hosting us, and thanks to all Governing Board members for their continued engagement and support! The next meeting will take place in March 2026 in Bucharest 🇷🇴, with the support of NCC RO - Centrul Național de Coordonare în domeniul Securității Cibernetice.

    The network of National Coordination Centres (NCCs) met today for its networking day, hosted by NCC-ES INCIBE - Instituto Nacional de Ciberseguridad. NCC representatives presented their latest achievements and lessons learned and engaged in strategic discussions on the future. The meeting also marked the rotation of the leadership of the network, with the new appointed Chair Hilda Ó Riain, and deputy Chairs Polis Peratikos 💬 and Hector Laiz Ibanez. Congratulations to all three! Thank you to the outgoing Chair and deputy Chair for your vision and commitment! 👏

    The first edition of the CRA – Making the EU Market Resilient conference #EUMCY took place yesterday in Bucharest, Romania! ECCC Executive Director Luca Tagliaretti opened the day with a fireside chat together with Dan Cimpean, Director of The Romanian National Cyber Security Directorate (DNSC) and Apostolos Malatras, Head of Unit - Market Technology and Product Security Unit at European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA). They set the stage for a series of panel discussions covering topics such as legislation and market access, surveillance frameworks, technical competencies and compliance pathway. A highlight of the day was the dynamic panel discussion “Empowering Business and Innovation in the Era of the CRA”, moderated by Polyvios Hadjiyiangou, ECCC Head of Operations. The panel explored how innovation and compliance can go hand in hand, ensuring that SMEs not only meet CRA requirements but also become more competitive within the EU’s Digital Single Market. The conference was organised by European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA), in partnership with the The Romanian National Cyber Security Directorate and the ECCC.

    We were delighted to be present at the 2025 edition of the Bucharest Cybersecurity Conference with a dedicated booth, providing information about the ECCC mission, activities and opportunities for collaboration. In a keynote delivered today, ECCC Executive Director Luca Tagliaretti outlined the EU priorities for investment in cybersecurity and the role of ECCC for cybersecurity technological advancement and capabilities development. In addition, Luca Tagliaretti moderated the panel titled “From idea to generating an impact – success stories in advancing innovative cyber solutions” which offered insights into how innovative cyber solutions are brought to life, from concept to reality. For this year’s edition, the ECCC was honored to collaborate on the organisation of #BCC2025 by The Romanian National Cyber Security Directorate (DNSC), with the support of NCC RO - Centrul Național de Coordonare în domeniul Securității Cibernetice and ANSSI - Asociatia Nationala pentru Securitatea Sistemelor Informatice, and European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA).

    Important milestone for cyber cooperation in the 🇪🇺! This week, the ECCC and the European Defence Agency signed a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen cooperation between the civil and defence communities in the field of cybersecurity research and innovation. The MoU aims to establish structured cooperation in areas of mutual interest and to explore opportunities for synergies in line with each organisation’s mandate.
