Thirty-five years later, the program has provided more than 1,300 Aggies with semester-long, for-credit policy internships in Washington, D.C., Austin, TX and abroad. Interns build connections, develop skills and gain a firsthand view of policy in practice. Celebrate ANRP’s anniversary by helping the next generation of Aggies gain the experience and perspective to lead in policy. Support future Aggie leaders here: tx.ag/ANRP35for35

This Texas Barbecue class teaches students how to cook a brisket and curate a community that lasts. The Texas A&M Department of Animal Science course gives a taste of home to nearly 90 freshmen each fall semester. Though the class has grown since its founding in 2009, the culture of caring has stayed the same. Read more at tx.ag/TexasBarbecueClass.

“Strong timber markets encourage landowners to keep their land forested and invest in stewardship. That’s good for the environment and the economy.” Aaron Stottlemyer, adjunct professor in Texas A&M Department of Ecology and Conservation Biology and department head of Forest Analytics with Texas A&M Forest Service, shared how cross-laminated timber is a key component in building a "circular economy" that supports private landowners, the forest industry, conserves working forests and reduces carbon-intensive construction. Read more at the link in the original post.
At the heart of the sustainable architecture movement is cross-laminated timber—a material that’s gaining traction among architects, foresters, and developers. It is created by bonding together several layers of kiln-dried lumber, each oriented at right angles to the one below, creating exceptional strength and stability. These panels can be used for all major structural elements of a building, including floors, walls, and roofs. Cross-laminated timber is also proving to be a sustainable economic innovation as it creates a circular economy. East Texas is currently growing nearly twice the amount of timber that is being harvested, creating a surplus in raw materials and a need to explore new markets. Cross-laminated timber is starting to fill that gap. 👉 Read more about cross-laminated timber by Texas A&M University: https://lnkd.in/gUVHiyga

The Coffee Processing and Quality Certificate focuses on meeting the surging demand for graduates skilled in coffee-related disciplines. As the industry continues its growth, our students are equipped with the skills needed to meet the increasing demand for competent professionals in the coffee sector! #BestAndBrightest #AggiesInAGLS
Texas A&M is leading the way in shaping the future of coffee — impacting every step from soil to sip. ☕ In 2024, Texas A&M launched the nation’s first standalone academic certificate in coffee processing and quality, offered by the Texas A&M College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. This program provides students with unique, hands-on training in everything from coffee production and processing to the science behind what makes your cup taste great. Students learn about innovative technology and the complex journey coffee beans take from farm to consumer. By focusing on real-world challenges faced by small farmers and emphasizing creative supply chain solutions, the program prepares graduates to strengthen and support the coffee industry in meaningful ways. Texas A&M’s commitment extends even further through the Center for Coffee Research and Education, which partners with international organizations to train the next generation of coffee experts and drive positive change worldwide. Aggies are making bold moves to build a resilient future for coffee farmers, businesses and coffee lovers everywhere! 🔗 https://tx.ag/fU7Emyh #AggieResearch #TAMUAg #Coffee
