Bolna is a Voice AI Platform purpose-built for India’s scale, linguistic complexity, and cost sensitivity. We enable enterprises to go live with thousands of concurrent calls in days, not months.
We’re excited to announce our investment in Bolna (YC F25), building the Voice API infrastructure platform for India. Bolna handles the complexity of voice infra, so enterprises can automate calls faster, better, and cheaper, at scale.
Thrilled to support the team Prateek SachanMaitreya Wagh as they give Indian businesses the power to build and deploy Voice AI Agents directly from their transcripts and FAQs so they can start automating calls immediately.
Welcome to the Pioneer Fund family!
From saving costs by sleeping in a mini-van in a Taco Bell parking lot to building a YC startup to now, backing multiple YC F25 startups including Bolna (YC F25), Taro's journey is truly inspirational! Honored to have someone who truly embodies the Founder Struggle-to-Success story invest in us!
🎉 New Investment: Bolna (YC F25)🎉
If you think conversational AI is all about chatbots, India reminds you that voice still moves massive amounts of real business - payments, collections, delivery confirmations, lead qualification. I’ve seen this pattern across markets: the interface that matches customer behavior wins.
That’s why I’m thrilled to announce our investment in Bolna AI.
Bolna is purpose-built for India’s scale, linguistic diversity, and extreme cost sensitivity. A few things that stood out to me:
• Launch thousands of concurrent voice calls in days, not months - critical for enterprise rollouts.
• Sub-500 ms latency with robust interruption handling for natural conversations.
• Multi-language support (10+ languages) and 50+ accents/dialects, including Hinglish, Tamil, and English.
• Smart model routing that picks the right mix (low-latency Kannada model for drivers, high-quality reasoning model for recruitment) and cost-optimizes with pre-recorded inserts and vertical-specific small models.
• Already powering 500k+ minutes per month across BFSI, e-commerce, and recruitment.
The practical lesson here: solving the real constraints of an emerging market - latency, cost, language - requires infrastructure-level thinking, not one-size-fits-all models. Bolna combines that product sensibility with execution speed.
Maitreya Wagh and Prateek Sachan have the right focus and the right execution muscle to become the voice layer for enterprise India. Super excited to back them and support the journey - let’s go Bolna!
Huge moment for us at Bolna (YC F25)! 🎉
Honoured to share that Bolna has been recognised among the Top 30 Startups in India by YourStory Media.
Even more special was receiving the award from Mukesh Bansal, a founder I’ve looked up to for years.
A milestone for our team, and just the beginning of what we’re building. 🚀
What happens when you try to explain conversational AI to your parents? In my case, it turned into a mini healthcare experiment. 🩺
A few weeks ago, I took it upon myself to show them what I actually mean when I say I spend most of my time “talking with bots”, by building a front-desk receptionist agent for their clinic 🏥.
It was a small demo to show how voice AI can help medical practitioners, especially doctors, automate daily tasks and free up staff to focus on more meaningful work that enhances patient experience and care.
Of course, I built it using Bolna (YC F25), though back then, I was just an excited user myself.
The first time I logged into the platform, my immediate thought was: this is literally the easiest-to-use voice AI orchestration platform built for India.
It not only supported agent-building in multiple Indian languages but also truly understood the diverse local use cases.
From following the product’s growth from afar to now helping shape it up close, it’s been an amazing journey.
Not long ago, I couldn’t have imagined the sheer diversity of use cases, industries, and sectors where voice agents could be deployed.
Today, it’s clear that conversational AI adoption in India is growing 📈 faster than ever, and OpenAI’s recent move only proves it. The opportunity here is massive. If you’re not building for India yet, you’re already behind.
At Bolna, we’re making it ridiculously easy to build voice agents, with a fully self-serve, plug-and-play, and intuitive platform that lets anyone create them in just a few minutes.
As a Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE), I get to work with teams across industries exploring how Voice AI can transform their businesses.
Some are amazed by the technology’s capabilities, some are cautiously testing the waters, and many are already using it to automate and scale key parts of their operations.
I’m genuinely excited 🤓 to see how all these scenarios unfold. And, least to say, I love being an ardent builder, contributor, and curious learner in the Voice AI space.
So, DM me if you’re building something that truly hits all the right spots, something users genuinely love ❤️, not just like!

We keep seeing flashy Voice AI demos, pre-recorded examples that don’t reflect what really happens on live calls. Even worse, closed systems where sales take months and one can't even test the product without a hefty contract.
At Bolna (YC F25), we believe the real test is experiencing it yourself. Our platform and APIs are built so teams can measure, experiment, and see real call performance instead of merely hearing manipulated, polished clips and demos.
We now share per-call latency metrics giving teams clear visibility into real-world call behavior.
Here’s a 𝐏95 𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐡 𝐨𝐟 𝐓𝐓𝐅𝐀 (𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞-𝐭𝐨-𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭-𝐚𝐮𝐝𝐢𝐨) from the last week showing how long it takes for the first sound to play after a call is answered (we strive to keep it under 300 ms). 𝐍𝐞𝐱𝐭 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐰𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚 𝐕𝐨𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐀𝐈 𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐨, 𝐚𝐬𝐤 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐓𝐓𝐅𝐀 𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐚.
Coming up: we'll be publishing a 𝐩𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐭 benchmarking how different model providers perform in real-world calls.

For our users who patiently analysed campaigns and scheduled follow up calls - thanks for your patience, but we've got it covered now!
Launching two powerful tools to help you automate complex calling journeys directly inside Bolna (YC F25) -
𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐟𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐬
1. Define how many times and in what sequence your agents should call, email, or WhatsApp a contact.
2. Set retries, intervals, and fallback actions - and once a call is successfully completed, the user automatically drops out of the workflow.
𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐬
1. Combine multiple workflows and agents to create end-to-end multi-step campaigns.
2. Each stage runs sequentially, moving users along predefined paths based on outcomes from previous calls.
From reminders to follow-ups to verifications, everything can now run automatically, without you lifting a finger
Happy automating ⚡️

The AI gold rush isn’t slowing down...it’s accelerating. Despite debates about sustainability and comparisons to the Dot-Com bubble, venture capital is pouring into AI at an unprecedented pace. KPMG’s latest report highlights that Q3 2025 saw massive VC activity concentrated in AI, with startups across industries securing eight- and nine-figure rounds.
