𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐧𝐨 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐩𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐬 𝐮𝐩? That’s a question we’ve asked ourselves many times. At BookXcess, we’ve always believed that books don’t lose their value just because they’ve been on the shelf too long. Stories don’t expire. Ideas don’t go out of style. But in retail, shelf life is real. Some books get old and have to be pulped. Some are rotated out to make way for new arrivals. And some… just quietly sit, waiting for someone to see them. Instead of letting them fade into the background, we decided to do something different. What if we gave them a second chance? A second chance to be read. To be loved. To find their forever homes. And so, we gave away 200,000 books—completely free. 📍 𝘉𝘰𝘰𝘬𝘟𝘤𝘦𝘴𝘴 𝘒𝘓 𝘌𝘢𝘴𝘵 𝘔𝘢𝘭𝘭  📚 4–6 𝘈𝘱𝘳𝘪𝘭 2025  💬 𝘕𝘰 𝘱𝘶𝘳𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘴𝘦 𝘳𝘦𝘲𝘶𝘪𝘳𝘦𝘥. 𝘑𝘶𝘴𝘵 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦, 𝘤𝘩𝘰𝘰𝘴𝘦 10 𝘣𝘰𝘰𝘬𝘴, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘵𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮 𝘩𝘰𝘮𝘦. This wasn’t a campaign. It wasn’t about footfall or sales. It was about going back to our roots. To our why. To make books accessible, not just affordable. To give back to the community that has supported us from day one. To honour stories that still deserve to be told—and heard. And truthfully? Watching families, students, teachers, and book lovers walk out of our store with stacks of books, wide-eyed and smiling, reminded us of exactly why we do what we do. Because in marketing, we talk about impact all the time. But this… this was something you could feel. We’ll continue to find ways to give back, to reduce waste, and to reconnect people with the power of books. Whether it’s through campaigns, community efforts, or small everyday moments—we’re here to keep stories alive. To everyone who joined us, thank you. For believing in what we believe.
