We just raised $5 million in Series A funding!! GFT Ventures, BankTech Ventures, and LAUNCH are backing us because we're solving a big problem - how regulated industries actually implement AI infrastructure without cutting corners on compliance, control, or auditability. Here's what we've built: AbacusOS: Our audited AI operating system that runs entirely on-prem or in your private cloud. You keep control and get full auditability. Plus, your data never leaves your environment. Enterprise Indexer: Connects to core systems and makes institutional knowledge actually usable at scale while maintaining compliance standards. Abacus Assistant: Delivers instant answers backed by citations and traceable sources. Every response shows its work. Demand for our products has been huge. As Jay Eum from GTF Ventures put it: "Abacus sets a new standard for trust and transparency in AI." We're using this funding to expand our engineering and customer success teams, enhancing AbacusOS, and rolling out new automation features (think: AI-driven workflows, decision support, and content generation). Thanks to Carey Ransom, Jason Calacanis, and the entire Abacus team for making this happen. And watch this page for product releases, team news, and jobs!

Tom Brown is a longtime bank investor and joined me on Operate Podcast to talk about his history, investment approach and the state of banking in the US. Tom is as relevant and attuned to what's happening in banks today as he was decades ago when he started, and I think his first principles approach is a lot of the reason why. He inspired me with his understanding of history, as well as his detailed knowledge of the change and disruption happening. We talked about newer entrants, such as Chime, as well as how much different types of financial institutions like Capital One and Ally invest in marketing vs. regional and community banks. Banks are largely undervalued in today's market and Tom runs a hedge fund that has significantly outperformed. You'll learn a ton from this conversation! Find us on your favorite podcast app.

When I get to hang out with my favorite community bankers like Ken and Thanh, founders like Zach, and BankTech Ventures colleagues like Brandon, I’ll get on a plane to anywhere. San Antonio, here we are, so let’s get a quintessential Texas picture while we’re at it, too. Thanks for all the collaboration and connection with the ICBA and the dozens of bank leaders across the country gathering here. Inspired by all of you and your service to the industry, each other and your communities and customers. We’re better together! Wayne Miller Kevin Tweddle Peter Nelson

“I’m not a talker…” Well, maybe I am. A little. So grateful for opportunities to bring together bank leaders and change agents, entrepreneurs who want to work with and improve them, and a few of us who want to help make it all work for everyone. 4 years has flown by at BankTech Ventures, and the progress and impact have been profound, even in the most turbulent banking market imaginable. The turbulence may never stop, but commitments to customers and shareholders take priority. We press on. The bankers we get to work with are rising to the challenge. And every once in awhile it’s good to take a breath, break bread together, reflect, share and remember we’re better together. CEO & Founder of Fintel Connect | 2025 Industry Legend Award Winner | Speaker | Compliance Enthusiast | Helping financial institutions grow through smarter customer acquisition

Some exciting news to share—Fintel Connect has been named one of Canada’s Top Growing Companies for 2025 by The Globe and Mail.    We came in at:  📈 #108 overall 📡 #29 in Technology & Telecommunications   What makes this special is that the list is based on three-year revenue growth, reflecting our momentum and the trust our partners and clients continue to place in us.    It also reflects the grit and commitment of our team. Growth like this doesn’t happen overnight, and it doesn’t happen alone. It takes people who are willing to do the hard work, ask the right questions, and push for better outcomes.    Thanks to our clients, partners and the brilliant team I get to work alongside each day. We’re proud to be part of Canada’s innovation story, and excited for what’s next 💪 🚀

The other night I was walking my dog during sunset, thinking *really original* thoughts like "the world’s changing faster than ever." And somewhere in that moment of overthinking, I landed on: trust and transparency matter more than ever. I’m genuinely proud that as investors in Finosec, we’re helping financial institutions build clarity and consistency, so they can stay secure and keep moving forward. Especially now, as the FFIEC CAT is being sunset, Finosec is stepping up with tools built for today and yes, for tomorrow too (sunset pun intended). Share your own sunset photo with #FinosecForward or #FinosecCAT, and they’ll donate $10 for every picture for the entire month of September.
