Recently we had the opening of Blox Space , the expansion of our community in a new home in Italy. 🇮🇹 From BitPolito to a way bigger ecosystem of companies, professional and student working hard on ₿ and where also Blockstream take place. I’m a big fan of architecture, design and of course ₿, and Blox is the best mix of them as you can see in the pics Enrico Pontello is the great Architect that followed every detail, everywhere you go, if your are a real bitcoiner you can see tiny details related to tech and bitcoin, otherwise you just see a great tailored design.

🐮🧡 Prima Torino Bitcoin Week La scorsa settimana Future Week Torino ha animato la città con vari eventi. In questo contesto si è tenuta la serie di eventi “Torino Bitcoin Week”: - BitPolito ha fatto un'introduzione generale - Blox Space ha raccontato com'è lavorare in questo settore - Bitcoin Torino ha spiegato perché e come integrare Bitcoin in azienda In qualità di speaker, mi sono confrontato con diversi professionisti e imprenditori. Trovo paradossale che il freno più grande all'adozione di Bitcoin sia molto spesso la paura delle tasse da pagarci. In Italia, l'innovazione non é bloccata dalla burocrazia in sé, ma, ancora prima, da un timore quasi reverenziale verso di essa. Paure a parte, ci sono varie ragioni pratiche per integrare Bitcoin: riduzione dei costi di transazione, accesso a una clientela internazionale, protezione dall’inflazione, e posizionamento per le attività locali. Ho esposto queste idee anche in un intervento al panel «Vetrine spente, luci accese», dedicato al futuro del commercio urbano torinese. 🙌 Grazie Dario Ujetto e ai tuoi collaboratori. Questi tre eventi sono stati un pilot. L'anno prossimo Associazione Bitcoin Torino coordinerà un'edizione più strutturata, con un format pensato per portare Bitcoin a un pubblico imprenditoriale e istituzionale più ampio. Torino ha la comunità, l'università, gli spazi e le competenze per diventare un hub Bitcoin internazionale. 👀 Manca solo che il resto della città lo sappia.

Turin has an incredible local ecosystem working on decentralized and permissionless technologies. Freedom technologies will be a cornerstone in every well-functioning modern democracy. From a local perspective, they should be regarded as a strategic priority of industrial policy, generating high-quality employment opportunities for both students coming out of Politecnico di Torino and Università degli Studi di Torino. This summer, when I met Filippo, I didn’t know much about Bitcoin. He didn’t mind. I was expecting a pitch from him, it felt more like a mission: a maturing industry, scattered across the globe, searching for the talent to build its infrastructure. And Turin, one of Europe’s finest engineering cities, watching its best minds leave for opportunities that never came here. Blox Space was born to connect them, and I was the one who was gonna make that happen. Through the hardships of these months, the ones you only face while putting together a product (and a building!) from scratch, I found myself working beside the best team I could hope for. And we weren’t alone: around us, a community that was driven, organized and technically minded beyond anything I expected, spearheaded by the guys and girls at BitPolito. They were here long before us, and their dreams were brave enough to will a place like this into existence. To everyone who followed this journey, to the outstanding companies and talents already working with us, to the ones who showed up last week for the launch: Thank you. Now the real challenge lies ahead. Bitcoin has finally found its Turin home, and in the process, so did I. Hopefully, it will becomes yours too. We have (truly) only just begun. 🧡
