I was in NYC yesterday and was lucky enough that the timing worked out to meet with Steven Forti, Chief Wellness & Resiliency Officer at the Hospital for Special Surgery... and see his vision for their wellness center come to life. What an amazing space - which acts as a place of refuge for so many staff and healthcare workers. But as much as I love the cool factor and physical impact of these offerings (like the amazing recharge room, the Infinity massage chairs, leg compression, biocharger), what I appreciate even more is the authentic commitment behind it. Steve said, "It's not just a wellness center, it's a symbolic representation of what we stands for as a company." To be resilient requires a combination of mental and physical... especially when you're on your feet all day as a healthcare worker. So these physical offerings are coupled with a team of mental health coaches that help address physician burnout. In my opinion, nothing is more important to workplace wellbeing than authentically passionate and committed C-Suite leaders who are leading the charge in this effort. #resilient #mentalhealth #workplacewellness #authenticleadership
