72% of companies use AI, but only 18% have councils that can actually govern it. That gap? It's about to get expensive. Just look at Texas. The state AG went after a tech firm that told hospitals its AI software had a "critical hallucination rate" of less than 0.001%. Turns out those numbers were... optimistic. The settlement required total transparency about limitations, potential harms, and how they calculated accuracy claims. Translation: You can't hide behind vague metrics anymore. Three questions executives are grappling with right now: 1. How do we prove governance pays off? 2. How much human oversight do we really need? 3. What's our legal exposure? The companies getting this right share a few things: centralized leadership with authority, risk-based controls that scale, continuous monitoring, and documentation that can survive regulatory scrutiny. 2024-2025 is the inflection point. AI governance has gone from "nice to have" to "you're liable if you don't." AI is moving fast, and so are your teams. This has given rise to the use of "shadow AI:" unauthorized use of AI to complete work within an organization. When people find tools that help them work smarter, they’ll use them. The challenge is building the structure that facilitates using those tools safely within your company. A strong Enterprise AI plan turns experimentation into strategy, giving teams the clarity, governance, and freedom to innovate with confidence. Forward-thinking companies are already: 🔹 Centralizing visibility across AI tools 🔹 Treating governance as an accelerator, not a blocker 🔹 Aligning IT, security, and business around shared goals The future of AI in the enterprise is coordination. Early mover advantage isn't about being first to have an idea. It's about being first to execute. Colgate faced a familiar challenge: build fast enough to lead the market, but smart enough to scale long-term. Competitors were already moving. The clock was ticking. Here's what made the difference: 🔷 Elastic teams that scaled up and down as the project demanded 🔷 Strategic partnership that translated business needs into technical reality 🔷 Platform thinking from day one, built once, deployed across geographies and product lines 18 months later? A completely new D2C marketing channel. A reusable platform architecture. And most importantly, they beat competitors to market while building for the future. The innovation was in the delivery model itself. No lengthy hiring cycles. No training overhead. Just the right expertise, at the right time, moving at market speed. Major retailers are using generative AI to make same-day feel effortless. Robots that navigate smarter. Predictions before you click buy. Product descriptions generated in real-time. It's not flashy. It's infrastructure that compounds into a customer experience that just... works. The potential unlock? $400-660B in annual value across the industry. Here's what's actually working right now: 🔹AI that negotiates for you, one retailer piloted a generative AI chatbot that negotiated directly with 89 suppliers on pricing and payment terms. 🔹Personalization without losing the luxury touch. In one case study, a retailer built a data platform so client advisors can ask questions in natural language and get instant insights. 🔹Marketing at the speed of culture: 70% of a major ecommerce platform's editorial visuals are now AI-generated. They went from 8-week campaign timelines to 3-4 days. Costs dropped 90%. When trends move at TikTok speed, this is huge. 90% of Fortune 500 retailers are already experimenting with generative AI. Most are moving past pilots into production. Full case studies on the Virtasant blog (our enterprise cloud and AI partner): https://lnkd.in/dyt7GJSk #RetailAI #Ecommerce #CustomerExperience

57% of employees are still hiding their AI use at work. But the root of the issue isn't trust, it's strategy. Shadow AI happens when enterprises move too slowly, when employees need capabilities now but have to wait months for approved tools. When business units see opportunities but get stuck in security reviews. Here's what changes when you have a centralized AI strategy: 🔶 Data governance that makes your proprietary data an asset, not a liability 🔶 Standardized workflows that scale across departments 🔶 Trust and visibility into what tools are being used and why 🔶 Formal training that reduces reliance on unsanctioned tools Only 25% of organizations have a comprehensive AI roadmap. The other 75% have employees innovating in the shadows while competitors move faster with structure. Build your AI roadmap: https://lnkd.in/dH84zKjZ #ShadowAI #AIGovernance #EnterpriseStrategy

A data center campus in Virginia is about to consume 1.2 gigawatts of power. That's enough electricity to run a million homes. One nuclear reactor's entire output. One facility. And it's just the beginning. We're watching the biggest infrastructure buildout in modern history. $371B invested in 2025 alone. By 2030? Data centers will need nearly $7 trillion globally to keep up with AI compute demand. Four forces are rewriting the rules: 1. Energy is the bottleneck now—data centers could hit 12% of total U.S. electricity consumption by 2028—up from 4.4% in 2023 2. Communities are pushing back hard—$64B in U.S. data center projects blocked or delayed 3. Geopolitical risk is real—if your strategy depends on concentrated supply chains, you're exposed. 4. Regulations are fragmenting fast—U.S. state AI laws jumped from 49 to 131 in one year. Bottom line: AI infrastructure isn't a technical problem. It's strategic capital. The companies that win will integrate compute capacity, data locality, and regulatory alignment into their core AI strategy, not treat them as IT concerns. Is your organization agentic AI ready? Traditional AI responds to prompts. Agentic AI pursues goals. It plans multiple steps, uses tools, accesses data sources, and adapts based on what it learns along the way. It's a big step forward, but most enterprises aren't ready yet. Agentic AI needs: → Programmatically accessible systems across your org → High-quality, well-structured data with proper governance → Clear permissions and metadata standards → AI operations capabilities that can debug non-deterministic systems 99% of enterprise AI developers are exploring agents. But that doesn't mean 99% should deploy them tomorrow. Don't rush into agentic AI. Prepare your infrastructure, increase your data readiness, and build the governance frameworks that make autonomous AI possible and safe. "Our engineers don't just use the latest tech, they're often among the first to deploy it. AI-assisted codebases. Multi-cloud architectures. Security frameworks for government contracts. TypeScript at scale. The learning curve here is steep by design. Our projects push boundaries. Our clients expect the best. And our people thrive on that pressure. You won't find comfort zones here. But you will find: 🔸Cross-training across disciplines 🔸Peer learning across time zones 🔸Real problems with real stakes 🔸Growth that compounds daily If you're the type who gets energized by challenges, not exhausted by them, then you'll fit right in. "The question isn’t “How much does AI cost?”, it’s “What’s the cost of not getting it right?” Training a foundational AI model from scratch? $4M–$200M per run. Maintenance? Another $1M–$4M annually. Sticker shock is real. But here's what most enterprises miss: you probably don't need to build from scratch. → Fine-tuning an existing model: $100K–$6M → Integrating off-the-shelf AI: often just implementation costs → Starting with a quick win: proves ROI and sets up future success The biggest cost drivers aren't always obvious: 🔷 80% of AI project time is spent on data collection and prep 🔷 Achieving 95% accuracy is straightforward, pushing to 99% gets exponentially expensive 🔷 Post-launch maintenance and scaling often exceed initial development costs Innovation in AI is about spending smart, understanding your maturity level, starting with the right scope, and partnering with teams who can guide you to the most cost-effective path.
