My Clay World Record submission! First Clay table built by a clay potter 😅⚱️
If you would have asked me ten years ago when I started working with clay (pottery) that I'd now be working in tech consulting using a world-class platform of the same name...
Seems kind of full circle 🫶 Very grateful to be here with so many interesting ways to live my life and express myself.
Go Nimbly 💚

I asked our Head of Finance if I could spend $60,000 to take five enterprise CRO prospects to the Super Bowl. He did the ROI math and it's not looking good for me.
Karan Parekh actually walked me through the numbers on camera - deal size requirements, probability lift benchmarks, estimated ROI, and why our bet at the US Open was 10x smarter.
Some of what we get into:
- How to calculate the real cost per ticket
- Why a 15-20% increase in close probability on even $400k ACV deals doesn't justify the spend
- My land-and-expand counterargument (which I thought would win him over)
- Our portfolio approach to event marketing budgets and when we measure individual bets vs signal for scaling
In the end, Karan gives a surprising reason why even if all five CROs convert, the Super Bowl isn't worth the $.
This type of conversation happens every day at Clay. It's how we balance making aggressive creative bets with financial discipline. Whether we're debating a $5k executive dinner or 50-yard-line seats at the most expensive sporting event on earth, Karan's reasoning is keeping us honest.
Yes, he just killed my Super Bowl dreams. But he is (probably) right!
P.S. My schedule just freed up for February 8th, 2026. If anyone is looking for a +1 to the Super Bowl, DM me.
P.P.S. Any other marketing questions you want us to debate? Drop them below👇
🚨 Introducing Clay World Records 🚨
Have you ever wanted to be the first person to build the first Clay table of its kind?
Or be the first person to build a Clay table in a specific scenario?
Now, you can! 🙌
Clay World Records is an ongoing campaign where folks from our community can create Clay tables in imaginative scenarios and claim world records
We will then compile all of these records into an actual, physical book, titled '2026 Clay World Records' 📖
Here's how it works ⤵️
There are three different categories you can claim Clay World Records in:
1. Scenarios — the first Clay tables built while (e.g. hiking, scuba diving, lost in the woods)
2. People — the first Clay tables built by (e.g. an 8-year old, a retired firefighter, the mayor of a city)
3. Use Cases — the first Clay tables built to (e.g. qualify/disqualify every company in your TAM, find rare Pokémon cards within a 100 mile radius, help you build a golf simulator in your garage)
There are already several people who have claimed Clay World Records, such as:
--> Tim Davidson, he built the first Clay table underwater
--> JK Sparks & Brandon Redlinger, they went to the top of a mountain to claim the record for highest Clay table ever built
--> Sara McNamara, she's the first person to build a Clay table as Ghostface
--> Rob Jones ⚡️, he's the first person to build a Clay table at an abandoned silo turned into an off-the-grid home
--> Jeff Ignacio, he's the first person to use Sculptor to build a Clay table while building a castle
--> Aidan Brannigan, he's the first person to use Clay to try and find himself a wife
--> Sam Kuehnle, he's the first person to build a Clay table upside down
--> Matthew Volm, he's the first person to build a Clay table in-between sets
--> Jed Mahrle, he's the first person to build a Clay table while riding a jet ski
--> Todd Clouser, he's the first person to build a Clay table in his kidnapper's basement, while lost in the woods, and after waking up in a cemetery
And it's all on video 📷
Head over to their pages to check out their Clay World Records 😂
You can claim your own Clay World Record by:
1. Picking a category
2. Filming a video of you claiming your Clay World Record
3. Posting it to your LinkedIn page
4. Visiting clay.com/world-records and filling out the submission form
If you're the first person to claim that record, we'll host your name, record, and video on the Clay World Records landing page and include you in the upcoming book 🔥
Have fun building!
I'm super hyped to announce a new campaign we've been working on at Clay 🙌

Clay World Records is an ongoing campaign where folks from our community can create Clay tables in imaginative scenarios and claim world records for those scenarios
We will then compile all of these records into an actual, physical book, titled '2026 Clay World Records' 📖
for example, JK Sparks and Brandon Redlinger drove to the top of Pike's Peak (14,000+ feet above sea level) to build a Clay table up there and claim the record for "highest Clay table ever built"
and Tim Davidson really got waterproof cases for his iPad and camera and built the first Clay table underwater
and you can claim your own Clay World Record too!
