We were thrilled to have Piyushaa Newatia Khaitan join our GT.FBA founders for an honest, insightful session on preparing food and beverage brands for investment. Her practical approach to storytelling, metrics, and investor readiness really resonated with our cohort. Thank you, Piyushaa, for helping Georgia’s food founders build stronger, smarter, and more investable brands.
𝗔𝘁𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮’𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗲𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹. Last week, I gave a talk at Georgia Tech Food and Beverage Accelerator — a (virtual) room full of 15 founders building everything from dog treats to schmears. We spent the evening breaking down what it really takes to prepare your brand for investment — from refining your story and stats to making the right first approach to angel investors. The best part? Hearing how much founders valued getting honest, actionable advice instead of vague investor-speak. Thank you for having me Aubrey and Brandy! If you’re a founder (or know one) who wants to have a clear, candid conversation about fundraising check out the link below. Atlanta’s founder energy continues to surprise me — diverse, grounded, and quietly ambitious. Can’t wait to see what this next wave of food and beverage brands brings to market. #IncludedVC #FoodTech #CPG

Words of wisdom from the great Jamie Valenti-Jordan!
Don’t… I repeat, DON’T spend your entire budget on your launch. I face a lot of entrepreneurs who spend everything that they have to launch their product. But launching your product is about 10% of the battle. In fact, you have to continuously relaunch and grow your product over time in order to reach the scale that makes it something that’s actually value-added. So when you get into market, you have to listen to those that are around you on how, not only to get on the shelf, but how to get OFF the shelf. Getting off the shelf is where you really generate that flywheel that drives more and more purchases by your retailers of your product, which allows you to continue that distribution growth throughout the rest of the country. That takes time, so make sure you budget for it. — 20+ years in food & beverage commercialization. If you’re tackling a tricky project, odds are I’ve seen it before. I’ll be sharing the things that worked here—so you can skip the 'learning experiences'

What a joy to celebrate GT.FBA members Ken Katz and Jeannette Flores-Katz at the grand opening and ribbon cutting of La Bodega and Pupuseria in Atlanta! 🎉 The Mayor Andre Dickens, Invest Atlanta, Latin American Association, and Georgia Restaurant Association were all there to cheer them on, and so were we. We’re beyond proud of Ken and Jeannette for chasing their dream and opening their doors to the community. The food, the energy, and the love they’ve poured into this space are so inspiring. Wishing them nothing but success, and if you haven’t had a pupusa yet, you need to fix that ASAP!
