H.R. 2137 and S. 1657, the Review Every Veterans Claim Act of 2025, would prohibit the VA from denying a veteran's claim solely because the veteran did not attend a scheduled compensation and pension medical examination. Under this legislation, VA would be required to consider the full scope of evidence—including service medical records, private treatment records and lay statements—before rendering a decision. The day before Veterans Day is known as #NationalForgetMeNotDay. It began after World War I as a way to remember wounded veterans and ensure they weren’t forgotten when they returned home from service. The forget-me-not flower became a symbol of this movement. DAV regularly holds forget-me-not drives throughout the country to distribute flowers and raise funds for our free veteran programs and services.

Two and a half centuries ago, the United States Marine Corps was founded on Nov. 10, 1775. We’re grateful for all of the brave Marines past and present have protected our nation with unwavering dedication for 250 years. Happy birthday, devil dogs! Thank you for your service.
