Just got back from DroneDeploy Horizons in Newport Beach and I’m still feeling fired up about everything that was shared and discussed. The focus on innovation and technology in construction was incredible. I had the chance to speak about how we’re using tools like drones, reality capture, and automation to improve safety, efficiency, and collaboration on our projects. It was great to share what we’ve learned, but even better to hear how others are pushing the boundaries in their own ways. That exchange of ideas is what keeps this industry moving forward. Also it was awesome to see Jon Ferguson hit the stage and share his thought on some of the things that are moving the industry forward. One of my favorite parts of the week was the conversations between sessions. Talking shop with people who are just as passionate about this work as I am reminded me why I love being part of this community. Whether it was reconnecting with familiar faces or meeting new ones, it was a great reminder of how strong and supportive the construction tech world really is. Huge shout out to Grant Hagen and the whole marketing team for throwing together an event that was top notch! Lastly this community is strong and awesome to be apart of. As the ☀️ sets on an incredible week in Newport Beach for DroneDeploy #Horizons I’m, yet again, left with my jaw dropped by both our world class team but more importantly, our customers that provide our every day motivation to build the tools we do. A couple quick takeaways: 1. DroneDeploy’s early bet on a “unified” reality capture platform (Aerial + Ground) continues to prove a winning one as evidenced by others rushing to follow suit. Seeing us double down here with significant upgrades to both our aerial and ground platform will provide immediate value. 2. Expect DroneDeploy to continue leading the space, particularly in the #automation and #intelligence categories. We formally announced an agentic #AI suite inclusive of Progress, Safety, and Inspection without a requirement to change existing workflows. 3. Speaking of automation, #robotics aren’t a product of the future but rather the present. Advancements in hardware optionality and visual LLM’s remove frictions around robotics knowledge, management, and associated costs. We formally announced our #EmbodiedAI solution that will autonomously capture interiors/exteriors daily, set to hit job sites in early 2026! 4. Simply put, our customers are beyond impressive. Spending time with them this week is a continued reminder that they aren’t celebrated enough for what they contribute to our everyday lives. What were some of your takeaways this week?! Just wrapping up another fantastic week at Newport Beach, California, after a truly inspiring time at the DroneDeploy Horizons event. I had the pleasure of representing EllisDon along with my good friends Neil Chauhan and Chris Masse, as always, EllisDon is leading the charge in innovation within the North American construction market, especially when it comes to integrating cutting-edge drone and reality capture technologies. A few highlights + thoughts from DroneDeploy's Horizons Conference this week: - Getting to spend time with industry leaders, partners and friends in the Reality Capture, Construction, AI and Robotics Space at a time where they all seem to be interconnected and ready to for mass adoption is exciting and very motivating. - There is no substitute for getting face to face with the DroneDeploy Team in person, as well as our partners and growing those relationships. - The future is very bright here at DroneDeploy. We are in for an extremely exciting 2026 + beyond and we will continue to be the leader for the most all encompassing, ease of use, reality capture + robotics program in our space.
