Our travel issue is here. Inside, we explore destination homes around the world, from a renovated prefab in the Dominican Republic to a cluster of gers, a traditional housing type designed to migrate seasonally with Mongolian herders. And even if your home won’t travel with you, wherever you go next, we hope this issue inspires you to step into someone else’s story. Check it out: https://lnkd.in/enRaWxMq

I appreciate this recent Dwell article on micro-units: small bachelor-size apartments with communal/cooperative style common spaces. Creative design and also a needed reminder of the intersection between housing, social well-being, and mental health for all - including the growing number of people choosing to live on their own at a variety of life stages. #housingpolicy #citiesforall

Call for proposals: Vesta has partnered with Dwell Magazine to ask designers to imagine a new lounge chair—an icon worthy of sitting alongside a Mies or a Saarinen. Vesta will produce the winning design, which will also be featured in Dwell magazine. The deadline to enter is June 1! Submit your design using this link: https://lnkd.in/dd9zi4Yg

Thanks Dwell and Sara Solovitch for getting the word out! Since 2008, we've been working to appropriately improve building codes to make adobe construction more accessible. Thoughtful articles like this one help to shift public perspective and push the needle that bit further. "In 2010, Smithsonian Magazine predicted the revival of adobe construction, when it listed mud building as Number One among the '40 things you need to know about the next 40 years.' Today, that prediction is coming true—largely because adobe construction isn’t only energy efficient and locally sustainable; it’s fireproof" https://lnkd.in/enxEs_wt
