Petricore Green Hosting GmbH was one of the first web hosts that was founded to be powered by 100% truly fossil-free electricity. When they launched, there were only a handful of providers powered by renewable energy. Now, as the electricity grid is increasingly decarbonized (especially in Europe), there are many more hosting providers powered by green energy. While the team at Petricore are winding down their operations, they will be launching a new service in Germany powered 100% by wind energy and using waste heat for algae cultivation.
