  • Hisar-based Jindal Stainless is expanding its annual coin blank manufacturing capacity by 20% to 12,000 tonnes from 10,000 tonnes, as demand for non-paper currency grows across global markets. The company supplies unstamped coin blanks to the Indian Mint as well as mints in France, Finland, Poland, the Netherlands, the UK, Malaysia and Slovakia, with production customised to specifications such as size, thickness, shape and alloy composition. The company expects demand to rise further as stainless steel’s lower carbon footprint supports its adoption and is looking to enter new markets and secure orders for additional denominations. Jindal Stainless’ Special Products Division in Hisar also has a 60-70% share of the global razor blade market, producing 19,500 tonnes annually after recently increasing capacity. The facility is also raising its green energy usage to 80% this year, supported by captive hydrogen and floating solar projects.  As Vijay Bindlish, Jindal Stainless Hisar’s Senior Vice President and Unit Head, said, “We are aiming for more such orders from across the world as we see demand rising.”

  • JPMorgan’s global chair of investment banking Anu Aiyengar says deal-making remains surprisingly resilient despite geopolitical tensions, higher interest rates, inflation and supply-chain disruptions. M&A activity has been particularly strong in deals worth more than $10 billion, with strategic and cross-border transactions continuing as companies prioritise scale and long-term positioning. Financing remains available, while large strategic buyers are supported by strong cash flows and access to credit markets. Private credit, meanwhile, has undergone a correction after heavy inflows, but Aiyengar does not see the asset class heading towards a subprime-like crisis, calling rationalisation healthy for markets. She also points to the enormous financing needs of the AI ecosystem, with data centres, power and chips potentially requiring $500 billion to $1 trillion in capital. On valuations, AI is increasingly influencing investment decisions, although returns remain difficult to measure. Investors are giving companies greater latitude on AI spending for now, but accountability could rise by 2027.  As Anu Aiyengar, Global Chair of Investment Banking at J.P. Morgan said, “The strategic imperative and necessity to do these deals is high.”

  • Advertorial | Financial markets are leaving the concept of the 'trading day' behind. As operating cycles turn continuous and real-time capital flows surge, patching legacy systems with point-to-point fixes is officially hitting a wall. At the recent Broadridge Client Summit, one message resonated across 170+ industry leaders: Transformation is no longer the destination - readiness is. The winners in this next chapter aren’t chasing isolated experiments; they are reshaping the core of their operating models: - Platform integration: 84% of global firms now see unified platforms as essential to breaking down silos between front, middle, and back-office operations.Core-embedded AI: The pilot phase is over. 27% of firms are already seeing real ROI by embedding governed AI directly into high-stakes workflows. - Hybrid infrastructure: Rather than building separate digital asset rails, 69% of institutions are hybridising existing stacks to make tokenized settlement and collateral flow practical today. - Resilience as architecture: In a non-stop market, governance, cyber readiness, and compliance are no longer afterthoughts—they must be engineered into the baseline design. The real competitive edge won’t belong to the institutions running the most tech initiatives, but to those that can absorb constant market change without adding operational drag. https://lnkd.in/dAArJNQX Broadridge India | Ranjeetha Raja | Sheenam Ohrie | Biju Raj Payoli Komath | Gurudatt Patil

  • Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Limited is gaining ground in India’s electric vehicle market, with EV bookings tripling over the past six months as strong demand continues to outpace production capacity. The company expects the September-December festive period to potentially become the industry’s largest-ever quarter, supported by sustained EV growth, GST benefits and a wider range of new models. EVs grew 77% year-on-year in the first quarter, while the overall industry grew around 46%, according to Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Chief Commercial Officer Vivek Srivatsa. The company expects demand to remain strong despite a planned price hike in September, although growth rates could moderate after the festive season as base effects set in. GST 2.0, which retains a 5% tax rate on EVs and reduced GST on small cars, continues to support affordability and consumer demand. Vivek Srivatsa, Chief Commercial Officer of TATA.ev said, “We are actually gaining market share every month… in the last six months, we had three times growth in bookings for EVs, and we are only restricted by our production capability.”

  • India is expanding its AI computing capacity, but much of the hardware and technology still comes from overseas. Madhusudanan R, cofounder of M2P Fintech, warned that this dependence on foreign AI models, GPUs and infrastructure could become a strategic risk amid rising geopolitical tensions. “We are still very dependent on international tech. What the (Iran) war has shown us in the last few months is that nobody is a friend,” he said. He also cautioned companies against blindly choosing cheaper open-source models, particularly those from China, without examining how they operate and what support is available. For fintech companies, he said AI adoption must go hand in hand with regulation, data localisation and explainability. Companies should follow the “spirit” of regulation even as the rules continue to evolve, he said. • The Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has cancelled the drug sale licences of Cipla Pharma & Life Sciences’ Carry and Forwarding unit in Pune, citing regulatory violations involving storage, packaging and recall procedures for Reactin Plus Tablets. The action, effective August 27, followed inspections that found unauthorised claims on the medicine’s packaging, discrepancies between computerised and physical stock records, inadequate storage arrangements and deficient procedures for handling expired medicines. The FDA had earlier seized Reactin Plus stock worth ₹11.19 lakh and directed the company to recall the product. Tukaram Mundhe, FDA Commissioner, Government of Maharashtra (GoM) said the department would maintain a zero-tolerance approach towards violations involving prescription medicines and public health. Cipla has contested the order, saying the matter is sub judice. The company also clarified that the FDA order does not raise concerns about the safety, quality or efficacy of its products, nor does it indicate any patient safety issue.
