I’m excited to share that I’ll be joining Ellucian as Chief of Industry Transformation, working with CEO Laura Ipsen and a remarkable team dedicated to helping colleges, universities, and systems strengthen their missions in a time of enormous change. This move continues the work that has defined my career: ensuring that higher education remains a powerful engine of social mobility, workforce development, economic vitality, and knowledge creation. I’ve often said that I can’t imagine, and don’t want, my children (and now, very soon, my grandchildren) to live in a world where higher education has withered, become inaccessible, or lost its capacity to advance its mission and contribute to a healthier, more just civil society. Those convictions have guided every step of my journey — from the history department at University of Glasgow, through the Gates Foundation, Pennsylvania's State System of Higher Education, and most recently, Baker Tilly US. Mission alignment is also what drew me to Ellucian – an ed tech company that understands higher education deeply because higher education is all it does. Dedicated to unlocking learning for all, Ellucian’s tools, infrastructure, and innovation support power higher education so institutions can sustainably empower student success. I am deeply grateful to — and look forward to continuing partnership with — colleagues at Baker Tilly US, whose extraordinary work and shared commitment to strengthening the sector have been a true inspiration. And I am eager to join 4,000 colleagues at Ellucian who are focused on supporting those working tirelessly in the field to secure higher education’s promise for generations to come.
