Then rejoice, your feedback has been heard! Due to popular demand - by applicants and sponsors - European Summer of Code will transition to projects announced on a rolling basis, as they become available! This will also make it easier for applicants, open source projects, mentors, and sponsors to participate without a binding May-August schedule. For instance, in many European countries, academic breaks start later, in June; and on the Southern Hemisphere, May-August is actually winter, and possibly term time at universities.
