In regions where data privacy is a concern (EU, MENA, India, etc.), AI use is mostly blocked by compliance concerns. We're addressing this on two dimensions: First, we separate AI that touches PII and AI that doesn't throughout the full product: 1) Bucket 1 is "Smart Tools." AI that helps your team build and operate faster. Examples: auto-translating a survey into 12 languages, describing a chart in plain English, and having it generate the query. This kind processes your configuration — not your customers' data. Most organizations can use that without lengthy compliance reviews. 2) Bucket 2 is "AI touching PII." AI that works directly with the feedback your customers gave you. Examples: semantic search across thousands of responses, embeddings that let you find "users frustrated with onboarding" without exact keyword matches. This kind touches the real thing — verbatim responses, sentiment, intent. These two categories need completely different privacy standards. - For Smart Tools, using a third-party hosted model is a reasonable tradeoff. - For AI touching PII, sending your customers' raw feedback to an external provider is a different conversation entirely — one most vendors skip. The second dimension is who is hosting the model where. We host the embeddings model ourselves in Germany 🇩🇪. Feedback data never leaves for a third-party provider. Not as input. Not as training data. We also provide extensive support for self-hosting embedding models as well as LLMs for our enterprise customers. Don't let compliance prevent your organization from moving faster. In the age of AI, operational velocity is what counts, and the organizations that unlock it in full compliance with privacy law are the organizations that will win market share. #AI #DataPrivacy #ProductManagement #GDPR #Formbricks

Very exciting to see this new release from Formbricks - one our the Institute Founders that have funded our work to date. Great job by Johannes Dancker and team bringing the new solution to market. https://lnkd.in/e-M36ySY
Today we launch Formbricks 5.0 AND a completely new, fully open source product 👀 (It's almost too much to fit into a single post, but here we go) 1️⃣ Formbricks 5.0 powers 3 things for you: feedback unification, AI enrichment and enterprise-ready experience reports via the BI tools you already use (or our new custom dashboards 😏) In practice, you can send Trustpilot or App Store reviews to Formbricks via API, pull feedback out of emails/chats via MCP and upload historical data with comprehensive CSV mapping. And, of course, Formbricks surveys. Formbricks creates embeddings, enriches sentiment and labels topics and subtopics (soon) for your semantic analysis at scale. Sounds cool, right? The best part is that all of that is powered by the fully open source Formbricks Hub (Apache 2.0). 2️⃣ Formbricks Hub is a highly scalable Go backend that powers feedback unification and enrichment - and it's free to use. No license split, no Enterprise Edition, just full, uncapped value for a niche target group: The top 5% of technical CX teams shipping their own tooling. There is a lot to unpack here and the best lens to look at it is "Cui bono" which is Latin for "Show me the incentives and I show you the outcome" 😉 So what's in it for whom? → Top 5% CX teams: Often restricted by platform limitations of Qualtrics and Medallia, they build their own systems. However, they don't want to build everything from scratch, so Open Source is the way. Buy or Build? Choosing Open Source is the answer: Get the head start of Buying with code-level flexibility + data ownership of Building ✅ → For Formbricks: We win visibility with Enterprise CX teams. We get access to Enterprise CX teams. We build trust with Enterprise CX teams. And if they happen to need an out-of-the-box XM Suite with RBAC, SSO, etc. we're happy to chat 🤝 Open Source isn't dead. This is how we think it can maintain its WIN-WIN dynamic that made Open Source as successful as it has been for decades. Read the full announcement here 👇
